Posted - Mar 11 2009 : 9:15:53 PM I'm not really sure where to post this, but I found a group on Ravelry started by a farmgirl who has been very inspired by MaryJane's magazine. She's named it MaryJane's Farmstyle Group, http://www.ravelry.com/groups/mary-janes-farmstyle but is concerned that she maybe shouldn't have used the name without permission, so she is debating whether or not to change it. Some feedback from the farm would be greatly appreciated!

Posted - Mar 16 2009 : 03:38:25 AM Good Morning,
Ravelry is a great community with way more groups than I have time or inclination -smile-. There are homesteading groups of various types but no Mary Jane group and I thought that wrong needed to be righted. I joined Ravelry more than a year ago but due to slow dial up wasn't able to actually use the site until we got faster i-net. I still haven't downloaded, or is that uploaded...I get so confused over computer lingo, photos of my projects. Mainly because I do so much more than knit and Ravelry is, essentially, a knitting group. That's not to say there aren't a lot of special interest fiber groups but none, to my knowledge, that encompasses all fibers and textiles. Until the wee hours last night I was working on my felted tea cozies and enjoying myself, simply.

Posted - Mar 13 2009 : 8:16:28 PM Yes, Sandra, if you are not a member of Ravelry, you will have to register for an invitation to join. It doesn't cost anything and it only takes a few days if I remember correctly. It's definitely well worth it! You can keep a catalog of your finished projects for everyone to look at and there are tons and tons of patterns. It is definitely a great resource for fiber crafters!

Posted - Mar 12 2009 : 09:15:21 AM Hi Heather, I visited with MaryJane this morning and she sends her best to both you and MaryJanes Farmgirl group on Ravelry... She doesnt see a problem with the use of her name for this. Please just communicate that, and ask that they dont trade mark the name, as that could get sticky...If she has any questions just have her email me... Rene@MaryJanesFarm.org
Thanks Heather.
TheresaB ~ I can see that you would be all over this :) right up your alley!
