Posted - Apr 30 2007 : 1:42:56 PM News and more news! Our oldest son, Sam, is here this week from Japan with his new wife, Natsue (married March 22). They’re an adorable couple. I’ll post photos from all the upcoming wedding festivities that we have planned for them before they go back home to Japan. They came to the states for Meg and Emil’s weddings, now it’s their turn for a celebration!
My new book, MaryJane’s Stitching Room, is out officially today. What is now a 144-page book was at one point a 288-page book! Our publisher decided to turn it into a smaller workbook, which resulted in quite a bit of content that we’ve been trying to find a home for.
One of the sections they cut included about 40 photos of pinkeepers we made here at the farm. We had spent about a month more than a year ago with our creative juices turned on full blast. It was a total blast, really, so we decided to share the experience. (During that time, we dreamed pinkeepers, we talked pinkeepers, we saw signature pinkeepers in every bowl, every shoe, every hat … pert near everything, even chicken feeders!)
But before we show you ours (to be featured in a 2008 issue of our magazine), we thought we’d ask you if we could see yours first???!!!! Hence, a contest!
Then, we’ll pick a couple of winners: one for best of show and one from the farmgirl chapter with the most entries. Our PINKEEPER WINNERS get me and mine (Meggie, Luke, and baby) for a visit, actually a crafting visit in your hometown. For more details on how the contest works and how to join in on the fun for strutting your own stuff(ing), check out:

Hope you'll join...it will be ongoing so just send me an email anytime you want to jump in!
Then there is the Apron Sew-Along topic where you can show everyone what you are working on...it doesn't have to be aprons..it is ongoing so join in anytime! Everyone shares their day to day ramblings and sewing so you never know what we are up to

Posted - Jul 19 2007 : 7:37:03 PM Well, Stephanie, if I had just logged on to DreamKingdom first, I would have known all about you. You are the one that made that beautiful pinkeeper out of a strainer! That is one of my favorite ones!!!!!! Good luck, you have a very good chance of winning cause it is beautiful. Love your sites and am interested in the mini apron thing. Do you swap or what? Let me know! GrammyGail |

Posted - Jul 19 2007 : 7:30:10 PM Hi Stephanie! You are just down the road from me, aren't you? That is exciting for me. My family is located in the Piedmont, Ala. area and I am happy to hear from you. I am a new member and also am in a recently formed chapter here in Chattanooga called "Southern Threads". That should give it away........Yes I sew....nothing wrong with that question! I also piddle a little in everything else! I entered the pinkeeper contest and actually finished my pinkeeper and sent it in on time. I am notorious for not getting things "finished" on time....ha. So I am just proud that I did and feel that I accomplished something. But I still can't believe how much time I put into it. I thought it would be easy to make a "little boot" and as usual I bit off almost more that I could chew!!!! Not the first time for that!!!! Well, enough about me.......tell me about you and what you sew and such........I will be looking forward to hearing from you either here or by e-mail. Always room for more friends and maybe you could give me some pointers to help me around this site.......it is quite the busy spot to be!! Glad to hear from a southern farmgirl!!! GrammyGail |

Posted - Jul 19 2007 : 7:10:37 PM Hey Gail (grammygail)
Welcome to the forum I just noticed where you are located! What part of Chattanooga do you live in? I'm in Valley Head, Alabama about 50 minutes from downtown Chattanooga or a little over an hour out to Hamilton Place...That's where I do all of my shopping.
Email me or post where you are...Do you sew? LOL I ask everyone that question... since I do..you'll have to excuse me I have met several ladies in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee since joining a few months ago. There is just everything to do around here that you can imagine so I know you will love it!
Hope to hear from you,
