Posted - Jan 14 2017 : 1:22:51 PM I already told my SO Josh that I plan on doing cloth diapers. They worked so well with Nora. I am going to order in some nice thick diaper flannel and make both flat fold and fitted diapers. if the baby is calm like Nora was- the plan is to take him/her to work with me for the first few months and then my parents will caretake during the day. I wish I could stay home with this one too, but I am the main income earner right now for the family and I can't imagine quitting my job- I love it out there. I am so lucky that I will have family to care for the baby.
I just ordered a DVD set that Nora and I used to watch when she was a toddler. It's called Classical Baby- I love the music composition and it'll be nice to have something that is good memories from my first baby for this one too. I know it's early but I didn't want to forget to have it on hand :)
I don't want to go all super crazy baby equipment lady. So many people have these massive registries when they have a baby. I want a wrap or baby carrier, a crib and rocking chair. Everything else is pretty negotiable. A swing would be nice but I have a feeling this baby isn't going to be put down much!

Posted - Apr 18 2017 : 2:33:50 PM I keep seeing the new bamboo fleece on Amazon and I am tempted to try that. I did flannel with Nora and it was okay, but it had a tendency to compact after a while. I think I might buy a yard or two of the bamboo and see how I like it. I can always go back to flannel if it doesn't work out so well for me!

Posted - Mar 22 2017 : 9:01:00 PM Congratulations, Alee! I so love cloth diapers! I bought a bolt of flannel when my first was about to arrive and hand sewed many diapers. Used them for my next also. Never regretted it! And I so understand just holding a baby! I see my gkids and ggrands with all kinds of equipment. Those heavy baby carriers wipe me out. I just couldn't carry one around. (I was always about 95 to 100 lbs.). I loved carrying my babies close to me. We didn't use wraps then either (I hadn't heard of them anyway), just our hips.

Posted - Mar 21 2017 : 1:14:08 PM Alee, those baby wraps are awesome! It was tricky learning how to put them on at first but once my sister-in-law showed me how it was easy. I used it quite a bit when my son was first born. Now I only use it occasionally since he's heavy and it hurts my back. Swings are also nice. We bought one on clearance with the first baby and it still going strong!
