gosh all this wonderful 'baby talk'. do you gurlz have any special fond memories of when your children and/or grandchildren were 'babies'? (or toddlers?)

our oldest daughter, kristen .. we adopted her when she was 22 months old .. oh my .. how precious .. she already had long blonde hair half-way down her back .. and blue, blue eyes .. and what a sweet, demure little smile. the very first day she came to us .. she was shy with ramrod perfect posture .. but wouldn't look left or right .. just straight ahead as she sat beside me on the sofa trying to figure out who these new people in her little life were. we talked softly, gave her a dolly, gentle hugs and COOKIES. She just held her dolly and cookie .. still looking straight ahead. We had a white persian cat .. and i went to get him (a big fat furry friendly fellow) .. i put him on the floor in front of her and told her this was her new kitty. Her eyes lit up .. she slipped off the sofa .. holding the cookie in her extended hand to the cat ..and exclaimed in a sweet voice (the first word i ever heard her say) ... KLITTY .. KLITTY! and i'll be darned if that finicky cat didn't eat the cookie and pitty patted right into her little heart!

would love to hear some of your stories too!

I've been thinking for the last day about "baby memories" My two little darlins' are 14 and 12 now, and I get awfully sentimental about their younger years.
My daughter had a toy called a "Dinoroar" when she was about 6 months old. It was a plush toy that had a noise box inside that let out a screachy roar when squeezed. You wouldn't think one so little would like that noise, but she would laugh and smile and just get the biggest kick out of that thing. She is still my fun lovin' goofball.
My son at age two or three loved the Disney Cartoon "Tailspin" The theme music was kind of a catchy Caribian(sp) song and he would stand in front of the TV lost in the music shaking his hips side to side. That was probably his favorite part of the show. He's into Bluegrass now!
Thanks for letting us share memories!

ha, my daughter used to call chocolate icecream "kee kaw" and peanuts "me monts"

one day after she had heard her dad singing a little song he had made up about "blame it on your genes"..as in genetics...and how alot of our actions/looks/traits can be tied into our genetic upbringing/parents,etc...
..I found her standing in the hallway one day singing to the top of her lungs..she was only about 2 yrs old..so I jumped back around the corner and peered around the corner just watching her..and lo and behold she was singing as loud as she could "blame it on your genes, oh just blame it on your genes" then she looked down and got this funny look on her face and she sang out real loud .."blame it on your shorts!" it was all I could do to keep from bursting out laughing just as hard as I could! I still chuckle when I think about it.

I love the baby words that Kristen used .. don't remember Wednesday using too many though. Kristen's CEREAL was always "cidrios" (cheerios) .. and monkeys were 'moinks' and pumpkins were 'poinks'.

Zoe is only yet one, so I don't have anything particular to share as I already cannot believe how fast the time is going!! She is funny and delightful and has a personality that is a perfect cross between me and Rob....we are going to be in toruble-let me tell you!!

Grace is hilarious and so imaginitive. She loves to hear about the way she use to say things- french fries "bai chai", Ketchup "chechup", bananas "nebanas", high heels "lady shoes", shampoo "water poo".

There are so many I cna' think of them all....oh!!! She calls my brother, whose name is Mathias, "Uncle Button". We tried and treid and kept repeating, "Uncle Mathias, Uncle Mathias, Uncle.......MAH-THI-AS" and she would say "Uncle", and "Mathias" on their own but to put the two together it was always, "Uncle Button." And so he is Uncle Button....

oh geez. Kids.
