If you watch the whole video, the message is strong.

What are your thoughts?

I love it. More parents need to follow up on threats. Sounds like that WAS one spoiled little girl. Kudos to the dad for standing up to her bad attitude.

I think the "shooting the laptop" thing wasn't that he didn't care about donating it, but I'm willing to bet he has said it as an empty threat in the past and the teen pushed him to the point that he was forced to do exactly what he said he would do.

I'm sorry to say that I've done the same thing in saying "If you don't pick up your room everything on the floor is going to the trash." Sure enough, I roped myself into throwing items into the trash *I* didn't want to.

loved it. He sent a clear message to his daughter and her friends.

I am friends on FB with my kids, and their friends, and their friends parents are on their FB lists too. This is the norm with homeschoolers. They have nothing to hide, and if they did.. they shouldn't be doing it.

My husband watched this video last night and I overheard it. I can't believe the disrespect that some kids show for others...and the stuff that parents will take from those kids! GRRR!

He addresses the smoking thing on his FB. It's public, and he's raising a lot of $ for the Muscular Dystrophy Association :)

I, too am not crazy about the smoking. However, good for him for taking action that showed he meant business. I especially like the fact that though the parents are divorced, they seemed united here. I wish more parents took an active role in their kids lives.

I just seen it earlier today too. I understand his stance, just a few critiques, wish he wasn't "smoking" in the video, and instead of shooting the pc, he should of video taped himself selling it to some one on Craig's List or donating it to a local boys and girls club or children in need after school program place. lol But, exactly what he said. More parents shouldn't stand for the disrespect they get from kids today, and should have real consequences. I see so many be so disrespectful yet sit there on their cell phone their parents are paying for. Do you think I'm going to pay for my children to have priveledges like that when they are being so disrespectful? No way! I see it every day though out in public. My parents would of never allowed me to have any privledges if I acted that way, and I never even dreamed of acting that way!

Yes saw this you tube video as well.

So many parents feel equal disrespect from their children as this man and his wife did and he voiced what many parents feel. Good for him.
