Have been using cloth diapers for the past 5 months. just starting to have an issue with rash of sorts. My DS is very red in leg creases, as well as on scrotum and anus area. Find when he wears disposable (normally at nights), the redness disappears. Anyone know what could be causing this?

What kind of CDs are you using? I think "Cloth" covers such a variety of materials and styles now that it's hard to tell what exactly the problem could be?

I think it's the cloth keeping the skin too wet also.
The disposable diapers actually keep the skin surface drier because of that mesh type of fabric which covers the cotton fibers which trap the moisture. I would say you should make sure the skin dries well before you rediaper, also helps to wash the skin with plain water...and let dry or blowdry on low heat.
The disposable diapers are not perfect because if you rediaper before the skin dries, naturally the enclosed area will raise the humidity near your baby's skin.

I guess I wasn't clear.
He wears a disposable during the night, and the redness dies down a bit, but then during the day, while wearing the cloth, he gets the redder.

Natasha,
My son was getting a small rash too. I realized I wasn't changing him enough and then we were having night issues no matter how much I changed him. It is very different using cloth than disposables. This may not be your problem, but a thought.

It could be possible that he is having too much moisture on his skin at night. Do you use any inserts at all? There is a poly one that we used with Nora. Also do you use any cornstarch or anything to protect from night time redness. Last I would check to make sure they aren't too tight.
