Posted - Feb 02 2012 : 7:41:13 PM Personally I have heard that our President is not in favor of homeschooling which made me quite concerned for the future of homeschooling. If my husband and I decide to home school our kids we will want to join the hslda as I personally know some HS families in our area that needed their assistance... It's crazy. Honestly, the reason why America is lagging behind the rest of the developed world in education isn't age related, goodness sakes I looked into going to med schools in other countries when I was in college and its really interesting to see how other countries education compares to here in the us (public, not private or HS) Anyhow I know kids need to take a language in high school but do they really benefit from it? Do they really become bilingual? If we home school our kids they would at the minimum become bilingual. We are already starting second language with them. Well without me rambling on, I think this administration is possibly laying the ground work to make homeschooling very difficult in our country. It does concern me as I see other rights (health care insurance) being attacked. I won't even go there because I could talk all night about that! Thanks for sharing the link, I had been wondering where the home school situation was going lately since I last hear about it just over a year ago. Hope my reply made some kind of sense, I'm tired and my thoughts are kind of jumbled at the moment!
