Who knew a 3 year old could love this movie THAT much?! Rosemary thinks this is the most hilarious thing she has ever seen.

What movies do your kids like that are not considered to be the norm or mainstream?

I made the Pipi costume for my youngest granddaughter for Halloween. She loved it. Then I made her a Pipi doll, too. Her sister loved all the above mentioned movies over and over. Of course they also had to see all of those Mary-Kate and Ashley videos; the ones when the twins were really small as well as all the others. I think they still have them. Now it is sort of a teen-age thing to see them again. LOL I still like watching Pipi, Mary Poppins and the other Disney movies as well as Annie and Anne of Green Gables.

Oh yay! I loved Pipi! I went as her one Halloween as well...with the black gum on my tooth, and the wire in my braids...:)

<3 Netflix, the anti-cable.

Wow, Road to Avonlea is on Netflix? I will have to try that!

I adore Anne of Green Gables as well!
Elizabeth...I used wire..a cut down coat hanger...over her head and inside the braids with loops on the ends under the fluffy part so she wouldn't get scratched. It was fun!

We have always loved Anne! I have seen the Road to Avonlea series...AND there is an "Avonlea" movie called "Lantern Hill" (also called "Jane of Lantern Hill"). It was filmed on Prince Edwards Island. It has been one of my very favorite movies since I was little. I highly recommend it!

Anne is a favorite at our house too. Did you know there was a TV series put out by Sullivan also?! I found it on Netflix the other day, it is called Road to Avonlea. It is coming to me house next.

And oh my goodness, that costume is the cutest thing! How did you get her hair to stand up like that?

Pippi is awesome! She is strong and fun and fearless...and except for the roof climbing and sword-fighting-with-pirates and stuff like that (LOL), a great role model!
We love:
Anne of Green Gables (the series for Canadian TV...Sullivan is the director).
Annie (the Carol Burnett one from the early 80's
All the old movies from when I was a kid: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, the OLD Disney movies (Pinocchio, Bambi, Lady & the Tramp,
BedKnobs and Broomsticks,etc.)
The American Girl movies (Molly, Felicity, Samantha, Kit)
I'll try to think of others that we've loved...

Found the picture of my Summer in her costume. She was in 5th grade. She will be a senior in high school this next fall!

Yep, we are in replay mode with it right now. The song won't get out of my head. "Happy as can be, tra la la la la, she's quite a girl. HEY!"

That's Hilarious because when I was little, Pippi was my favorite movie and my son, who is turning 3 on July 5th has been watching it faithfully for an entire year now! He went thru a time when he wanted to replay it over and over and over. Of course, I wanted him to do more active activities, but at least it was a classic that he liked :) so, for his "active activities" he would pretend it was scrubbing day or try to climb walls, or fly an auto-gyro :) GREAT movie!

Rosemary just asked for a Pippi apron and skates, or the brushes on her feet when she cleans the floor. I am half tempted to let her!

Me too, which is how I think she got hooked! I have the 1973 German one with bad English dub-over. Still great.
