This morning my little munchkin did not see me sitting in the sunken family room off the kitchen. I heard the door creak ever so slightly on the pantry. I asked if there was a little mouse in my kitchen. No answer. Little footsteps scurried up the stairs. "Hello??" I asked, but no answer and little giggles coming from the top of the stairs.

I keep a big bag of chocolate chips on hand in the pantry for cookies, and everytime I open the pantry, the bag seems to have come open. AHA! I asked Audrey to come downstairs and sure enough her mouth was chock full of chocolate chips, like a chipmunk with birdseed! She was caught!

I laughed even more, because I remember in the seventies that my mom kept a bar of baking chocolate in the door of the fridge. When she wasn't looking, I was always sneaking a nibble...

These stories are too cute! My little mouse has transformed into a big, unabashed rat! Nothing's safe once they hit their teens... or mid-40's for that matter! LOL! I sure miss those cute little mouse days, though!

Have any of you ever heard of the book, "The Big, Hungry Bear?" It's actually called, "The Little Mouse, The Red, Ripe Strawberry, and The Big, Hungry Bear." I purchased it a looong while ago when mine was still a cute little mouse... I'm pretty sure I got it through Usborne books. Anyhow, it's the cutest stinkin' book about a little mouse, a tempting juicy-sweet strawberry and a big, hungry bear! We read it so many times that I have it memorized - and my foster daughter knows it by heart too, and always reads it to her little ones! Please, if you can, find it for your little meeces - you and they will love it to pieces! :)

My little mouse likes to steal cookies and cupcakes! She will also make off with carrots from the fridge. Silly mice!

I have a mouse in my house too! Mine likes to sneak off with my bag of shredded cheese though. She can't reach the chocolate on the top shelf of the freezer.
