Does anyone use the Bob books as a homeschool or supplement to school aid? I have a friend with 7 kids and she homeschools them all. She starts them out with the Bob books and recommends them. Any other reviews from the farmgirls?

BOB books are awesome. I taught my daughter to read with them and she did so well that I brought them to school and used them with the children (I taught 1st grade at the time). This was over 15 years ago and I have lent them out through the years to friends, neighbors, tutored witht them, you name it. Everyone who has used them loved them!

Alee... I just found this post! We used Bob books and loved them! My sister-in-law recommended them, so I picked up a couple just to see how they were... We ended up buying almost all of them! I may - MAY - have some stored up in the attic... I'll check for you. My sister-in-law has 6 kids, 5 younger than my son and her first son, so I may have given them away. I'll see if my DH knows where they'd be - he's the keeper of the attic storage - I do not tread in his domain! LOL! I'll get back to you asap. Hugs - Nini

I used them with my kids when I homeschooled. They are a great starter reader. There are multiple sets that go up in reading ability. If I remember right the blue set is first and then the red set. My kids still joke that they have them memorized and can recite certain readers. When my youngest started attending public school they used them also with him since he had learning disabilities. Another book all my kids enjoyed was How To Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons.

I used them with all my children and we loved them. Simple and sweet. We homeschool and we used other readers, but these were something we kept to use with them all over and over again.
You may want to buy used, they are nearly $20 a set new.
