I am getting things together for Violet's first birthday party, photos, etc...and ran across a few that I thought I'd share with you gals. For some of you, you've never seen her, others it's been a while unless you are a repeat offender at our blog (and I'm not the best blogger, so it's a little stale with pics :))...

Anyway, these were mostly taken from November til a week ago.

And last but not least, everyone's favorite (including Violet, obviously!), Julie Andrews....

Jonni - I am sure that your hubby loves a lot more than your eyes. I could list some, but I won't. You are blessed.

Thanks, girls.

Karin~it's so nice to hear from you. Think of you often, though I am a bad girl and don't write. And I'm STILL working on your gift. Probably be spring before you get it, but it will still be cold in Maine, I bet :)

Jeannie, this month has brought SO many feelings along with its first day. Happily planning her party, and reading the letter I wrote to her just after she was born. My, what amazing emotions! She does have my eyes and my husband is SO happy about that. Apparently, it's his favorite part of me :)

I was thinking of you and Violet just last night and remembering last February when you were so excited to bring her into the world! She has your eyes. And so nice to see she is a Julie Andrews fan already!!

Time sure does fly that first year. They change the most in this 12 month period. From just a newborn to a walking talking human! That even likes to watch the Sound of Music.

Remember this time as before you know it she will be graduating High School and going off to College.

Thanks, Lisa and Nancy--
Time flies when you're having fun, that's for sure!

How sweet of Jim to think Vi is a cutie--she really has gotten so much prettier in the last month or so. And yep, those eyes!!! My friend, Luke, also said she looks very much like me--a "teeny tine baby Jonni face" is how he described it, especially (he thinks) in that picture where she's got the orange apricots on her face and a sly smirk :)

I love them all but the Sound of Music one just cracked me up. A later shot shows her all blurried from jumping up and down to one of the songs!

Love the 1st pic, such a face! & the Sound of Music. SHe'll be watching that for years to come.
I showed to Jim & he said. "Look at those eyes!!" Then on to the next one.."Look at those eyes" & the next & the next & then he said. "She looks like her mom."
He actually even went "Awww"..the most emotion I have seen him put forth when it comes to a baby.

Thanks so much, Rene, Maggie and Carol...she is truly our joy!

Thank you so much, Julie--we think she's a pretty girl, but she's ours :) It's funny you say that about her Daddy keeping a watch on her. When she was born, he and the doctor were talking and Jus said, "we will always have big dogs!" We go to a little soul food restaurant a couple hours south, and Nick, the owner has known us for some time and when he found out we were expecting a little girl, he said to Jus (my very slim, slight husband)..."Do you belong to a gym? Cuz, I can't teach you a few lifts to build your upper body...you gonna have a girl, you're gonna need to look more threatening!!!"

Thanks, Tanna and Janice--
Tanna, she really DID love The Sound of Music. I thought it was odd how entranced she became during the "doe, a dear..." song, but then I remembered that I sing that to her (among a host of others) every now and again. Wow, Lukas is 11? I can't even wrap my head around 11 MONTHS!!!

Janice...along with that schmooshed up face comes this hilarious fake old man cough followed by somesort of a gremlin like giggle. It really is hilarious!!!

So sweet! Time flies doesn't it? I look at Lukas and think it hasn't been that long since he was in his little carrier looking all shriveled and sweet. He'll be 11 next month!

I love the pic in the bag and the last one because we love that movie and it looks like Violet does too ;) Enjoy every minute of it. She is just so special!
