I just read Chicken Little to Nora. I totally had forgotten that Foxy Loxy eats all the animals in the story!

Nora didn't seem upset- I am not sure if she quite got why they didn't come out of the lair again. I seem to remember the story as having Chicken Little being told he was silly for thinking they sky was falling. I guess I just made up that ending in my mind! Either that or I have a defective version of the book! LOL

Some of those fairy tales and stoys we read when we were kids were scarey!! What were they thinking?

When Jonah was in Kindergarten, I volunteered the day the teacher read it to the class. I swear, I was holding my breath, just knowing that someone was gonna cry at the end of the story...BUT she said that she didn't like the ending and that she wanted them to come up with alternate endings and it was such a creative moment!

We call it 'departing from the text' and Jonah and I do it all the time now. We change the words and let our imaginations run! Try it with Nora if she seemed bothered by the original ending.

Eeeks!I forgot that part too. I am going to reread it later today. Was Nora upset? Bless her heart. I always remember that as being one of my favorite stories as a child...maybe I was a little wierd!?!lol
