Nora woke me up this morning by crying. When I went to go put her to bed I quickly realized she needed an immediate bath and bed change! Nora had gotten sick during her sleep. Nora has never thrown up before so she was understandably terrified.

Right now she can't hold down anything for more than half an hour or so. I am trying to get to her drink small amounts of Gatorade so that- if nothing else she won't be dry heaving. I think that even with her digestion slowed way down- her poor body should be absorbing some of the moisture.

Poor kid. My heart goes out to her. I hope that later today she will be able to eat some jello because nothing is worse than feeling sick and hungry at the same time!

She was a trooper. She only cried that first time and I think it was because it was the most violent of the vomiting sessions. The rest of the time it was like..."I don't know why THAT just happened!" Luckily it was just that one day!

That poor baby - and you too! I remember the look of fear on each of my kids faces the first time they "lost their cookies". I would cry right along with them (without them knowing of course) as I encouraged them that it would all be ok!

Thanks Linda!

Nora is sleeping but I had my other kid come home sick (my husband). He is in bed sleeping right now after getting sick at work. Ick. That has got to be one of my worst nightmares. I know- silly- but I don't handle me getting sick very well at all!

Luckily I got our hot water malfunction fixed so we now have hot water again! *Yeah!* I have been sanitizing and cleaning EVERYTHING that I can get my hands on!

Well she had kept down some Jell-o, some fresh carrot cake, and some water. So I am hoping her natural good health is kicking in and beating the bug.

Oh Alee - I hope she feels better soon!!
I remember when my DS was that age - he could tell he was going to throw up, but couldn't express it, so he would just start crying uncontrollably. It breaks your heart because you can't do anything to stop it

She is pitiful right now. Just absolutely limp. She started throwing up again- and laid her head on the coffee table as if to say "I don't know why I feel like this, but I don't like it." Poor baby. At least it is a pretty passive throw up. It just kindof come out instead of the whole body jerking spasms.

A sweet midwife that I had ages ago recommended that I let my son suck on a dill pickle once when he was a very ill little one (he was 18 months). She said that dill pickles actually have more electrolites in them than most sports drinks. To this day he still loves dill pickles. She also recommended decaf tea with a bit of peppermint in it or peppermint infused water. We still use that one when ever one of us has an upset tummy.

Stay strong little mama. My mama always said lots of cuddles, love and tenderness was the best medicine.

I sure hope Nora gets feeling better real soon. I am so grateful my kiddos haven't caught the nasty bug yet. I have such a weak stomach when it comes to vomit. Makes me queasy just thinking about it. My heart goes out to both of you.

Keep her quiet and warm. Even a couple teaspoons of jello or cream of wheat may settle her tummy whenn she can hold it down. Bits of toast & plenty liquids. Chick broth & rice. It is going around I am afraid, My grandsons had it too..

Both my boys had it, it was horrible! Luckily the throwing up didn't last more than 24 hours, but the diarreah lasted longer. It's miserable when they are young like Nora and Sullivan and don't understand what's happening. I hope she feels better soon!
