Nora goes to bed between 8:30 and 9pm every night. She really would like to go to bed a bit earlier, but often we need to go pick her dad up from work so she has to stay up for that. But then she gets up between 6:30 and 7:30 every morning.
I have been so tired lately. I guess I need to get smart and go to bed earlier so I can get my rest like Nora! lol

Ann- She has learned how to get her shoes on and is so close to figuring out pants. She knows how to get them to her hips, but not quite sure how to get past the diapered bum!
How did you teach your kids the shirt? I think that is something she wants to learn, but hasn't quite gotten yet. she will occasionally pull one on over her head, and if I am helping her dress, she knows how to put her own arms down the holes, but the two parts together haven't clicked yet.

Since we home school, my two get up when they get up. Which is fine with me, I'm not much of a morning person. DD usually stumbles out of bed around 7:30-ish, I'm usually up by 8, and DS, well... the other day he did not get up til nearly 10:30! DD is in bed and asleep by 9:30 or 10 pm. Which is nice - she was the one who didn't take naps regularly or sleep through the night until 19 months old. DS on the other hand is obviously a good sleeper, but he's my night owl like his mama. He's usually not even sleepy til 10:30.
As for Nora putting on her boots - since I know you're a Waldorf Mama - We used to take DD to parent-tot swim lessons when she was a baby. When the Y moved us from the little pool, which was almost like a hot tub, to the big pool which was like Lake Michigan in January, I had to quit swimming with her. I can't handle the cold! Anyway, it got to be Daddy-Daughter time. So he taught her to dress herself while he got dressed. I moved all of her little toddler clothes to the bottom drawer in her dresser so she could reach. She was doing everything but her diaper and her socks at 18 months. Toddlers will learn anything that a) they want to and b) a grown-up has patience and thoughtfulness to teach them at their level. DS didn't get the swim lessons, but he still learned to dress himself. They are so proud when they can do "big people" things and be "big boys and girls" at that age.
Oh, and if she's figuring this out on her own, HANG ON TIGHT, GIRL!

That is for sure! Nora put her winter boots on by herself this morning and ran out to play with the dogs in the back yard. I hadn't even realized that she had put her boots on!

Funny thing Alee. You might think she will be ready in a few years but watch out they try when they think the are ready. I know both of my kids did something before their time. Take my son Derek, he decided to go out into the garden by him self without telling anyone. He wanted to pick his own pea's for breakfast. He got up, go dressed and out the kitchen back door. We awoke found his bed empty and started to get worried. My husband looking downstairs and me looking upstairs. He was not in the house. I then noticed the back door was almost shut. I was not a ware that he knew how to unlock the dead bolt. I ran outside calling and could not see him. I turned to the garden area and noticed a few blond hairs blowing over the pea patch. Aunt Jenny- I figure I have at least another year before Nora is ready to pour milk on her cereal and eat it without me right there. She is only going to be two in March :D

I sort of get things set up for them the night before ( I am a little bit of a control freak) so they have all but the milk out. If they are having something different I have that set up too. It helps me since I am wide eyed and bushy tailed and feel like it at night...so before I go to bed I get their lunches made for school and breakfast stuff all set up.

I am lucky. My kids, ages 14, 12, 12 and 11 are pretty good about bedtimes. They go to bed at 9am on school nights and 9:30 or 10pm on weekends, etc. I never have much trouble getting them to bed. Of course, they have to be up early. Oldest daughter gets up at 5:30 to do chores and milk with me and leave by 7:45 looking like all 14 year old girls must. The others tend to get up at 6am and leave at 7:25 (they ride a bus to the next town to the middle school) so getting up later isnt' really an option. Luckily they are mostly morning people. My husband is up at 5 or 5:30 at the latest with no alarm..ugh..if only I could be like that.
