I am a co founder of a mommies group in my town and I am the host of a craft day and a recipe exchange day. The recipe days go really smooth because we just scribble down eachothers recipes but the craft day gets a little wild.

Does anyone have any good simple but fun crafts for a table full of moms trying to keep an eye on a living room full of toddlers?

I have done a few, some more complicated than others, and so far I get mixed results. I know you can't please everyone and it relies heavily on if the kids are playing well together so there are a lot of variables here, but I would like this to be a success so if anyone has any tips on hosting such a group, or crafts that work better than others please clue me in.

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.

Our Mom's group liked a wide variety of things so here goes:
Large terra cotta saucer birdbath made with tiles, stones, broken china
Mailboxes (Donna Dewberry style very easy
Birdhouses painted, decorated
decoupage trays, picture frames, luggage
Basket making ( square or rectangular quite easy
Beaded jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelets)
Tea cup swap (filled with goodies -tea bags, coffee or cocoa packets , chocolate "spoons",tealight candles, etc)
Sewing 101 (intro to sewing or embroidery, we did both)
Basic knitting
Button covered picture frames
Cake /cookies in a jar (layer dry ingredients) cap w/ calico ,ribbon and recipe
Painted glasses (wine, etc...)
That's some, there were lots more, hope it helps!

with a happy heart
