My 8 year old son is autistic, and Thursday stuck himself with a sewing needle I had left sticking in the arm of the couch! All day Thursday and part of Friday he complained and babied his arm.So Yesterday I afternoon we bring him to the E.R.And he has a huge infection in his hand! He is in a TON of pain and his hand is doubled in size! So be carful Mama's where you leave your needles!

Thanks for your prayers! They said they didn't really know what type of infection it was,but it was in his joints so they had ta make a 2 inch cut on the back and 1 inch on the front and get it all out.He has to be on meds for two mor weeks after 5 days on I.V. meds! A very long week for our family!!I was never so happy to get home after 5 days,to see a garden full of weeds that had sprung up while we were gone!

Hi Jess
We'll keep your little guy in prayers! No fun when that sort of thing happens. ISn't it amazing how kids can find needles and such easily while it takes us all day while we just hope that we catch the sun glinting off its tiny head....Kids never cease to amaze me..:)
Glad to hear he is feeling better. Still praying
Hugs

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

You should also keep your needles put away when pets are around, too. I fished one out of a cat's throat once; fortunately the thread was still attached and I saw the end of it hanging out of her mouth. If the thread hadn't been there I would never have known she swallowed the needle.

Hope he feels better soon. It's heartbreaking when our little one's are sick.
Take care
