Totally looking forward to school being out for summer???
I know by the time it is mid August I will be happy to send them back to school, but right now I am looking forward to swimming, gardening, lazy mornings, camping and going on drives with the kids. We only have this week and two more left of school. Next year we will have no more kids left at the Elementary school!! Hard to believe that I will have only middle and high school students...2 will be in 6th grade, one in 7th and one a freshman. They grow up so fast!!!
These next couple weeks will be crazy at both schools (elementary and middle this year) with performances, park day, field trips, concerts, state reports and displays, May fest, track and field day, and service project day for the middle school kids. Oldest daughter graduates from 8th grade this year too. I am especially busy at the Elementary school with PTA stuff...and subbing too. All this stuff these last couple weeks will make our crazy month of June with baseball, swim lessons and pageant seem like nothing..haha

I'm definitely looking forward to having the kiddos all day home. Mine are 7, 6, and 3(not in school for awhile yet luckily!). They're so funny about it too. They are planning things they want me to teach them about this summer. Seriously, they're starting a list. . .the moon, butterflies, tigers, water (ice/liquid/gas), etc. I really love my kiddos and love to have them around me. It'll be a fun summer!

I too love it when the kids get out of school. My DH always thinks I am crazy, he works from home so the noise level around the office for him increases during the summer months. This year we put in a swimming pool, so I am hoping the noise level will be outside.

My youngest will be in pre K in the fall if universal Pre K is instated, otherwise I will have one more year with my little buddy. I will be sad when they all go to school.

Julie, I had to laugh at your remark!! My niece is a teacher and those were her thoughts also!! I love summer. I was one of the few Mom's that loved having the kids home with me. Now that I put the grandkids on the bus and they get off here in the afternoon it is nice cause no more early mornings for a couple of months. They still come over here a lot but we get to just have fun!! They are 14 and 10,great ages.

I swiped my kids out of school at noon today because they're aunt was in town.

I miss them so much when they're at school, but their dad (we're divorced) would never let me homeschool them.

Wow, sounds like school gets out early where you girls are! Here in Ontario, they go to school right to the last week of June (and it can be so hot then!)

My middle son is graduating from Grade 12 (big night June 26) and will be leaving home for university in Ottawa (5 hours away), so I'll have to make the most of his last summer here, as we don't know what the future holds.

Still have one left, my daughter currently in Grade 10. I am looking forward to not having to scramble with lunches, etc. at 7 am!

My 4 kids are homeschooled, so it's no big change for us *U* But we do look forward to all the outdoor activities that summer brings. I love having my kids home with me...I can't imagine them gone all day like they were when they were little and wet to public school. I remeber not liking them home then too, in the summer. I guess now we are all just used to it and prefer it.

I dread summer because school is out. My kids tend to be homebodies, so they get on each others nerves.
That and a hurricane hits daily. I get home to messes that "not me" created.

The countdown is on! Amanda has three days at Camp Surf next week (outdoor education, really!) and after that just two weeks!! We are done May 30th. We are both looking forward to sleeping in a bit, gardening, swimming and just having a great summer! Not to mention the beach, the fair and hanging out in the air-conditioned library when the dog-days arrive! Amanda is even open to the fact that she has to do math on the computer every day of summer vacation (M-F).Glorious summer :)

I will be so happy for summer. My girls are my life (children, not chickens, Jessica, lol) Tho, they are teens now, I still want to have them around. They are my beach buddies!

I too am so excited about summer. With the price of gas we will be hanging around the farm for most of it! That is of course fine with me! There is plenty to do. My youngest will start kindergarten in Aug. I will be so sad:( He is my little pal. I will be lonesome without him around all day. SO, I told my husband we could either start over and have a baby or he could get me some 'girls' to tend to...He is getting the materials for the chicken coop!! ha! I am also checking into a potbelly pig, I think I will be plenty busy! I will really slow down and charish the simple moments of the summer though! Can't wait!

With all of my kids out of school, I feel as though the entire year is summer! lol I used to love summer vacation with the kids. Even if we did nothing, they were home, and that was nice.

2 grown boys and two still in school.. I cannot wait for school to get out.. I love the freedom summer brings. I home schooled the two oldest until they began high school.. so the whole school thing was an adjustment for all of us.... But we spend a lot of time at the family cabin in the summer and we are all looking forward to that!

We only have one of our 5 still at home and in school. I am dreading this summer because next year is my son's senior year .

BUT when the kids were all around we loved the beginings of summer.

Nora's not in school, but her cousins are! It will be great to have them home during the day, ready to play and Grandma's house (where I will live over the summer) is the _Best_! :D
