Posted - Apr 06 2008 : 6:52:05 PM I woke up this morning and got Sullivan out of his crib and heard Tate playing away in his room, talking about a little flag. I peeked in and his "little flag" was a long piece of the frame of one of his windows with a jagged piece of glass attached in a flag shape. He was waving it around, sitting in a pile of broken glass. His left hand was on the floor in a puddle of blood. He has a deep cut on his pinky finger, luckily that was it. He didn't cry or seem bothered, but we took his to the er since we couldn't get it to stop bleeding. The cleaned it out good and gave him some antibiotic and told us to watch closely for infection. Now he thinks he's crippled and won't hardly use his left hand. Which is tough because he's left-handed. He just holds it up and had a meltdown at breakfast because he got frosting from his cinnamon roll all over it. The only thing that would calm him down was coffee. I have such a weird child! I guess with two boys, I will probably always be a frequent visitor in the emergency room.

Posted - Apr 11 2008 : 5:42:13 PM That is so scary - and so strange how he continued to play even though he was hurt! I hope he is doing okay now - injuries here seem to go in spurts. My four year old broke her arm last fall and the two year old got a gash above his eye that needed to be "glued"...all within a few weeks of one another. I think that is how it goes sometimes. So glad that it wasn't worse, it sounds like it could have been! -Elizabeth |

Posted - Apr 07 2008 : 12:18:47 PM The whole frame and everything came out and then he must have stepped on it or sat on it. He was sitting on it when I came in. Tate's weird- he just really likes coffee. And both my boys like eating raw onion. They don't get that from me!
