Check out this auction! This price simply floors me!

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 2:47:58 PM I think the price on the GoodMomma website is decent at $33 a piece. I personally like making mine, but if I didn't have the time or inclination, and if I knew it was going to last through all my kids- I would pay $33, but not $75

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 09:44:37 AM I know it's hard to believe, but really I ask you look up the prices of organic materials, especially bamboo and hemp, and other diapers that are bamboo and hemp, and you have to buy 5 different sizes, (this one changes sizes, so you only have to buy one size), and you'll understand the cost more.
Again, I really wouldn't be able to afford, but even making your own at home can become quite costly-the material alone! Then the patterns, and then being scared you may mess up and the materials are so super expensive, it's scary! lol haha |

Posted - Mar 11 2008 : 08:38:32 AM I have to agree it's CRAZY!
However, I don't think it has to do with the "print". I have personally never even heard of this particular diaper. (I cloth diaper! lol) But, it sounds like the materials are what is the outstanding part of this diaper, not just the print, the organic material, the bamboo material, the hemp! All that stuff is rather expensive (not to the tune of what she is asking, but I've priced these materials with co-ops, and it's pretty darn expensive.) and it is a ONE size. Most cloth diapers can be like 18 to 20 dollars, and come in like 5 sizes (meaning you have to buy the next and the next and the next size up. So if you go through 5 sizes, at 18 dollars each, you are up to 100 dollars right there! This diaper is a one size, meaning you would only have to buy the one size ever......so this is how I can see it going up to this price, and NOT based on the print.
Still I won't be spending that much on ONE diaper! lol haha And I thought the bum genious's and fuzzi bunz were expensive! lol haha |
