Some people were asking me the other day if Nora slept throught the night...I admit, I was a bit proud and happy to say "Oh Yes! She has since she was a month old..." So what happened that night?

She woke up at 5am

Then on Tuesday she woke up at 3am

and now she is up at 3am again!

*sigh* I think I jinxed myself and her too! Right now I am trying the whole "go in after a few minutes of crying to soothe without picking up" since I already changed her diaper and nursed her. I hope she will go back to sleep!

She goes through spells; it's funny that way. We have noticed that the more stressed she is, or if her sleep pattern is off (like she spent the night with a friend last weekend and stayed up until 2 a.m.), the more likely it is to happen. It's creepy though. She will open her eyes, talk to you, have a complete interaction, but you find out the next morning she never woke up.

Kim-

My nephew had night terrors! They are so hard! *hugs* My sister found out that he was much much more likely to have them after he had any sort of food preservative, and especially after eating McDonald's foods. I hope she grows out of them soon!

We noticed a change with both daughters when it would be time for the clocks to change. I think their bodies pick up on the shorter/longer days thing.

Good luck. My 8 year old has night terrors and wakes us up screaming and hollering on a regular basis. There's no way to wake her up from it... and the next morning she has no idea. Meanwhile we are exhausted...

LOL Not if she wears me out with these 3am wakings! Because it isn't like she goes back to sleep... she is UP! And very upset if I want to put her back to sleep... Silly baby. I am hoping she will take a really late nap- like waking up at 8pm tonight so she will go back to sleep really late today and get back to sleeping through the night!

Hey sis, go ahead and brag that Nora sleeps for a long time! That's awesome, and just means that you will have more energy to watch your neices and nephews when you come back to visit! HE HE HE!

Oh Alee,

You SHOULD be happy and proud of your little Nora!! That is quite an accomplishment. My little man rarely sleeps for more than two or three hours at a time, and he is nearly 8 months old. I know that I should cherish every sweet nursing moment, but sometimes I need sleep. Everyone kept telling me that when I started some real food he would sleep all night. NOPE. Oh well, eventually it will happen.:)

Drowsily,
Toni
