Posted - Aug 20 2007 : 05:00:07 AM With a 3 year old , almost six year old . home schooling, my home business (market farm), church activities and my regular house chores,"and some time just for me" (like chatting on MJ fourms).also trips to town for errands could be "30 miles and a 1/2 day wasted" I feel I am stretched to thin. We just did homeschooling last year when ever I could fit it in but this year I need more structure with him starting 1st grade. Both of my kids need more structure. Could any of you share tips, schedules etc that help your family. My son is the one who really thrives on having a scheduled day and I know I could get more done if things were planned. Please HELP this frazzled mom !

Posted - Sep 03 2007 : 6:28:18 PM I need a schedule too but one thing I did to help me remember stuff was make a mommy book.. I have a binder and I make notes to myself and checklists for the kids.. for instance... 2 of the children where having a hard time remembering certain facts.. so I made a list of questions to ask them daily to help them remember.. then with 6 children I would have a hard time keeping track of them getting their teeth brushed, showers daily (especially the olders- and the boys the most) so I made a daily check list for teeth brushing, baths/showers, chores, schoolwork, daily Bible reading etc... So in the morning I open my book and start going through the list- first thing- teeth brushing.. this has helped a great deal for accountability for me and the kids. Especially with the older kids who do so much on their own.. and now as I am going through the list I can assign the olders to a younger for hygiene.. As things come up that I notice needs to be kept up on a daily basis and no one is following through I make another check list.

Posted - Aug 20 2007 : 9:48:31 PM I would start a written schedule and post it on the wall. Make sure everyone gets up at a set time in the morning and goes to bed at a bed time. Also lists while running errands might help with your town trips. Good luck! Please share what works with us!
