Posted - Jul 31 2007 : 1:06:30 PM Don't worry- Nora isn't scalded. I hope I didn't give you a heart attack although I sure about had one-
Nora and I were getting cleaned up in the shower and my downstairs neighbor started running water outside which dropped out cool water so the hot suddenly was all we were getting. I got Nora out as soon as I felt it- but she got some really hot water on her face before I realized it. She was pretty upset at first but calmed down and her skin isn't red so I think she is fine- but phew! That was scary!

Posted - Aug 01 2007 : 12:48:41 PM Whew! You guys are lucky! A lady I know somehow spilled boiling water from a pot on her 18 mos old son's head. His head was covered in scabs for a long time.

Posted - Aug 01 2007 : 06:50:15 AM Sorry for the scare, glad she's fine. I personally hate the temp regulators - because then I can't seem to get the water hot enough to wash dishes well!
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Posted - Jul 31 2007 : 11:23:21 PM Those are both good idea. I will have to have my landlords turn down the water, but I don't think they will let me change the faucet unfortunatly. I think they would be afraid of what they would find if we started taking apart the shower assembly...

Posted - Jul 31 2007 : 9:36:57 PM You can actually get a faucet installed that will balance the water in the event that this happens.

Posted - Jul 31 2007 : 8:36:21 PM I'm glad Nora is okay! My son, Tate once turned just the hot water faucet on and stuck his hand in. He got his hand out fast, so he didn't get burnt either. It's difficult though because he is left handed so he automatically turns the hot on. We had to turn the temperature down on the water heater. You should talk to your landlord or whoever to turn the temp down to a safer level. I think they recommended around 120 degrees, but I've found that's still pretty hot. |
