Before the holidays, my boys' brought home an edition of Parent Line. I didn't get around to browsing it until last night. In it, was an ad where you could buy a cozy fleece(?) blue blanket that cam in a box with Peanuts' Linus on it pictured with his blanket. When you purchased the blanket from Urban Outfitters for $36, the proceeds went to Project Linus - an organization that donates "security" blankets to hospital patients, particularly babies and children.

I wanted to buy one from Urban Outfitters to give to a woman I know who is pregnant with a baby boy. It was a nice blanket, and I loved where the proceeds went.

UNFORTUNATELY, Urban Outfitters no longer sells them, and I looked on the actual Project Linus site and didn't see anything there either.

So I was wondering if anyone participated in this organization, and maybe we could work something out.

Thanks! Though those are very cute, I was wishing the proceeds would go to a worthy children's charity. Thanks for looking though. I live near a JoAnn's, and maybe I'll get creative with a baby shower gift in my own way using that idea.

I haven't heard of that, but when my son was in a major car accident when he was 6, he spent 4 nights in the hospital. We were given a sweet red blanket with The Incredibles on it. He is now 13 and still has it on his bed. I'm fairly certain it will be going to college with him in a few years. It gave him such comfort through the scary time at the hospital and still gives him comfort today.

I sure hope you find something that is still doing this.

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

I wanted to get that specific blanket and give it as a Baby Shower gift to a special friend. Nice Gift, Nice Cause.

I do occasionally make afghans and then take them to my local lady here in Rochester. Are you wanting to make some and donate or looking for that specific blanket?

It sounds like a wonderful project. I'm sure there's bound to be someone that knows something.
