My name is Marilyn Anderson with American Barn Quilts & I am glad to finally be an official FarmGirl. :D
I thought this would be the perfect site to use to introduce the art of barn quilts, I'm working on the beautification of the country side with a truly historical art.
We do it a little different here at ABQ, the designs are traditional with a contemporary structure. We make all of our quilts on high-grade outdoor vinyl & printed with fade resistant ink, like the billboards; this makes the quilts lighter & easier to ship, unlike the ones painted on wood. You can order them large enough to stretch over a frame or there's the option of grommets. Our quilts are shipped in a tube, and easy to mount with the help of an extension ladder and a cordless drill.
See what all of the commotion is about in the world of barn quilts, check out the tours, the festivals/expo's, and be sure to visit our website at http://www.americanbarnquilts.com/

Here is a pretty American Barn Quilt, I designed for this lovely yellow porch. It's a 2x2ft, see you don't have to have a barn to have a Barn Quilt. Where would you hang yours, if you had one?

Just to let all of you know. You don't have to have a barn, to have a barn quilt like this. You can also display them on you home, garage, shed or just about any where you like. What fun, it is to read all those sweet postings. Thanx. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Hello Marilyn,

I have some "country neighbors" who have these on their barns! They are so neat! I am a quilter and need to look into getting one! Then I'd have to ask my mother-in-law permission because our property and hers are next to each other. LOL My husband and I have the house and garage, she has the barn and machine shed. I don't think she would object though as she likes quilts too!

Glad you are with us!

We saw these a few years ago in Iowa. Loved it. And there are a few on barns near us. So much fun to look for them.
