I would love some input on my etsy site, ladedacreations Look under shop section fascinators and let me know if my prices are too high or maybe even too low. I am getting lots of lookers but no takers. My daughter sells these for me every time she wears one someone buys it right out of her hair, but none selling on etsy. Any ideas? Thanks Sandy

Thanks Marjean, I have to agree. I have my wood products...or should say I did have my products in several shops, but most have closed their doors, I feel for them. I am going to take my hair things to a few beauty shops and give them a try. My daughter works at a high end restaurant and wears them to work...sells them right out of her hair. I can make the yo yos in the eves and most are from scraps so I will keep making them and hopefully things will change before the fad does! Any money I make is what my Mom called Mad Money. In other words it is my fun money. We live on a small retirement and since we are extremely thrifty it doesn't take much to live. I feel for all or you who need those sales to survive. Hi Sandy,
My dear daughter's jewelry is the same way. She's only had 4 sales on etsy since her shop opened. But, she gets lots of offline sales from gals at her work and friends. She make awesome things and is so creative. But, I can't get her to sit down and make them cause no one is buying online from her.
If you tell her the color and give her creative room she will come up with something that will knock your socks off everytime. So now she is trying her art work of hand drawn note card sets. These too take her hours to do and no one wants to pay the price for the prints. I'm going to take her things to some local shops and see if I can sell them outright.
But, I too think it is the economy and people are holding on to money more now than ever.

Great shop, Sandy! I agree with what everyone has said so far. It looks like you have really well made products...so creative! And the prices seem just right to me. I think that everyone is really watching what they buy right now, and maybe "fancies" are taking a back seat to necessities, but eventually it will come back around. Hang in there...I truly believe that those who stick this out will come out shining :) Great work!

I understand how you feel Sandy, I have been selling on ebay and etsy for years and I still wonder if my prices are right and fair. I too get a lot of lookers on etsy but I have done fairly well this month I think. Joanna thanks so much for the information I too know that the photo is just so important. Sandy I feel your prices are just right as well, a lot of it is the economy, everyone is really watching there money and what they buy. Summer is coming and things always seem to pick up then.

 Hi Sandy, Your items are beautiful and you do nice work. Two suggestions for you: First, the picture needs to really showcase your item. The picture showing how it can be worn is good, however, you need one that makes it so you can see all the details well. Because of the color of the hair and the backgrounds it is getting lost. Second, be sure to include a picture of the back. Folks will want to see how it attaches.
Other than that, your items are fairly priced, there is a bit of work to making these and it just might be no one is in the market at this time. Also, maybe if you promote them with some online advertising for weddings, proms, mothers day, mother to be, etc. it may help get you some sales.
