Every spring and fall, the number of people in the small Texas town of Round Top (population 77) swells to thousands, all looking for flea market finds to fine antiques at the Round Top Antiques Fair.

The fabric used in this tropical print apron was purchased in September, 2010, at the fall Round Top show. The woman who sold me the feedsack said that in the fabric world, feedsacks are considered "comfort fabric," much like macaroni and cheese is thought of as comfort food. She hit it on the head. Feedsack makes you feel at home, comfortable, at ease.

This apron features a tropical print feedsack fabric on one side with extra long ties so that they can be brought around and tied in the front. The opposite side is new red and white check fabric. There is no waistband, but pleats that result in a very flattering fit. An edging of pretty aqua rick-rack peeks out around the edge of the apron

Also included in your purchase is a red dishtowel.

These reversible aprons do double duty. In the kitchen, wear the "new" side to catch spills and splashes, then flip the apron around to serve your lovingly prepared meal.

The feedsack fabric is NOT reproduction.
