I have a problem I was hoping someone might be able to help me with. My mom and dad used to braid wool rugs when I was young - probably more than 50 years ago. They have left 2 big industrial drums of the rolls of wool, and wool pieces in the locker that I am trying to clean out. I remember that they paid a lot for wool back then, and it seems like it is still expensive to buy, and I just don't know enough about it to make any kind of determination on how much it might be worth if I can find someone who is interested. I live in Calif, so it wouldn't be of interest to you, but thought I might try Craigs list or something to see if I can't sell it for a reasonable price.
I think there are about 60 large reels of wool and then pieces of wool, blankets, and so on. I also have all the rugs - although they are quite worn, but still servicable - a couple are room sized, and I just don't have room for all of them.
Thanks for any advice!!

Also, try Craigslist, you can get advice from people in their Arts and Crafts section

Thanks Monica!! I have done that, and it's really hard. Some of mine is rolled in strips into large rolls, and some is just remnants of this and that - all wool, but not sure what. Some I found online looks to be $15 a pound and some can be that much for a small roll, but I don't know what kind of wool mine is - probably mixed. But you have given me some ideas, and yes, I can take some pictures!! I really appreciate the help!!

Kathy, I would do an online search for "wool for braided rugs" and see if you can get some prices. Is the wool in large sheets or is it in long ribbons? Could you post a pic? Do you know what kind of wool it is? Don't mean to ask to many questions, but it would help to figure out a price.
