Posted - Sep 08 2009 : 5:35:31 PM As many on the Palouse know I craft one of a kind ladies hats...from cloth, straw, to felted I make it all. Felting brought me to carding my own dyed wool...which let me to teaching myself to spin yarn. Weird how crafts grow like that. I use alot of local wool in my yarns, which I also use in my hats. It's one big fiber addiction I have here.
Anyway hats, an obsession. Wool, even bigger! You may have seen MJ wearing a few of my hats (recently a red wide brimmed number in the latest magazine). Years ago she came with a group of gals to visit my old millinery studio (I've since moved). Anyway I'm making a good go of it on Etsy. Feel free to stop by either of my shops and see what I have going on! I make frequent updates, and take personal requests (look at my sold stuff). Etsy is a fun crafts mecca, you join like Ebay to buy. I love Etsy since it allows me to enjoy a rural lifestyle...it's also great because I get to stay at home with my little girl and make stuff all day. Website info below!

Your work is exquisite! Is the greenish hat worn by your model in your post (second photo) for sale? If so, what's the size? Do you do commissioned pieces? I'm a hat wearer big time and have been on the hunt for a specific hat..a boller (sp) type hat..like the kind worn by Pierce Brosnen in Thomas Crown Affair, or in the movie, Meet the Robinsons..etc.. HOWEVER, this is normally a man's style hat and I would love something simiar but fancied up girl style. The red 20's style hat that you have on your Etsy site is GORGEOUS and that's sort of what I'm going for but I want the side rolled up instead of down...Sooooooo, can we work something out here? I tend to wear black and all the shades of the earth....Email me with your thoughts.
Truly Beautiful work..Oh and please let me know about the BEAUTIFUL straw hat you posted!! Bowing deeply in respect and awe! ~julia
