After much soul searching I have decided to retire The Rustic Cottage. Everything in my Etsy shop is half price and limited to the quantities on hand.

There are so many soap makers in the market and I have found myself wanting to take a different direction with my business. For now, I will take a break and work on some ideas that have been bouncing around in my head.

Thank you for your support and your business - I appreciate it so much!

Allison - I was going to reopen my Etsy shop on February 1st but am not sure if that will happen now. I'm still working on some new things and I don't think they'll be ready by then. I have decided to keep The Rustic Cottage - after so many kind emails and comments to do so.

I just went to Rustic Cottage on Etsy and it says it will reopen Feb 1.

Does anyone know any secrets? What did I miss?

Hi Kay,

I too am saddened by your store closing. I love your calendula soap so much. I am so glad I got that last order in, but will definitely miss the soap when it is used up.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. I have had so many emails from people begging me not to quit my business. I am taking a month off to mull over some ideas and make a final decision about which direction I want to go. I will certainly let you all know what I decide. Thanks so much for your support!

Hugs,
Kay

Kay, I was so surprised to read this! I guess we all have tides and seasons in our life - our businesses even go thru it. Having conversations with you in the past about business adventures, I know that your trust and heart are in the right place - you will do well no matter what! God bless you! And, I agree - keep the name! Besides, you just had your moment of fame on esty.

Oh, so sorry to hear this. Love the name though, maybe you can keep it. I sent through an order. If it were spring I could come meet you and pick it up. My sister in law lives there. Good luck to you.
