Posted - Dec 18 2008 : 08:04:32 AM I sent my granddaughters to church wearin pillowcases one Easter. They were so darn cute. I was doing some jobs in Dallas , one of my clients was into making these pillow case dresses and wanted me to make up a bunch for her to sale. Using little oneies (sp) you know those little baby t-shrit type outfits that snap at the crotch.
Well you draw a line midway on the chest part , cut off the closed part of a vintage pillowcase leaving the beautiful bottom part ( means no hemming). Cut the length you want for dress , gather it up evenly , pinning as you go around the oneies and then sew, very easy and so vintage cute. Add little roses , buttons, ribbons, etc. Dress up a matching little doll on the side for the little one and you got super cute.
I had a really cheap camera, I still got a cheap camera but better, anyways it was back in 04 when my granddaughters were 1 and 2 yrs. This was the best pic of them, kinda dark but you can see how they look. They sold well down in Dallas. I have a His and Hers vintage pillow case that I'm thinkin on making my new granddaughter.
You might like them and try in your store.
