Posted - Nov 23 2008 : 12:54:32 PMWell --after a year of fooling with etsy i have gave up on it. I have reopened my ebay store. It is at http://www.ebaystores.com/shadowsofthegoddess
Posted - Nov 26 2008 : 08:32:31 AMetsy is a wonderful community of craft people. However the site itself needs major work to get traffic. It has worked for alot of people :)
Posted - Nov 26 2008 : 08:09:17 AMI have been trying to decide whether or not to open an Etsy store because I have a lot of primitives and handmade items that will not do as well on Ebay but I am so tired of Ebay jacking their prices and then having to pay Paypal fees on top of that. Some of their fees are 12% this year making it near impossible to make a profit.
Posted - Nov 24 2008 : 08:34:50 AMSOoooo..many reasons.:P Basically I dont have traffic to my store--i spent a year marketing 60 or 70 ways ..no joke! Their search is so messed up for an auction site. I was spending hours a day when I was off work trying to market and network --wasnt getting anything crafted .I do alot of bartering off my barter blog at least. Ebay has millions of people that browse it on any given day. I had an ebay store for 6 years and closed it for year and then tried etsy for a year. Now I am back to ebay. I love etsy --is great idea --and i will shop there still .I am at point with my job being cut part time so bad ..that i need a small and fairly reliable income to make up the ghours. Etsy just cant furnish that for me :( LIfe is a witch ~~~ and then ya fly !! My blogspot .http://tribalwitch.blogspot.com/ and my barter blog is at www.bartertribalwitch.blogspot.com and www.alteredartfun.blogspot.com ebay store ..http://www.ebaystores.com/shadowsofthegoddess
