Posted - Nov 14 2008 : 8:16:11 PM Does anyone here make Raggedy Ann dolls? I went to a craft show this evening and saw a lady buying one. It was so cute, and I could tell it was hand-made. I looked all over the place, and even the nice women who worked there searched for me, but that lady bought the last one... So I'm looking for Raggedy Ann. I would rather not buy one in the toy store, I would prefer a beautiful hand-made doll.
Thank you, Carol

Posted - Nov 17 2008 : 09:07:06 AM She was made for decoration , I would not sell her for a doll for a little girl because of buttons and other things. But I could make a new one for some one or even better I could embroider the face with my machine and barter or sell those and then you can make your own. I would put it on a big enough piece of fabric that would take care of the head and body so you would just position your pattern piece for the face and then cut it out. I have raggedy ann faces and scarecrow faces in different sizes if anyone is interested.

Posted - Nov 15 2008 : 5:32:27 PM I like any topic on dolls but handmade cloth rag dolls are my favorite! There are many variations of Raggedy Ann....I have seen Primitive patterns that are nice. Also you see patriotic ones often. Look under cloth dolls in Internet search. It is so much fun to look at them! I made a 3 ft Raggedy Andy for my son years ago....next time I'll make one for me!
