Posted - Sep 12 2008 : 8:41:37 PM all you farmgirls are GREAT!!!! i just love it here already! right at home!!! i tried clicking on the link to the pattern but all i got was a white screen, darn! my grandmother was a stout woman and always wore skirts AND an APRON!!!! always! she was always in the kitchen too and would put me up on the counter so i could help her cook. she made succatash soup every morning AFTER doing their laundry BY HAND! she made it all seem so easy. she always made time to get down on the floor with me and play 'tiddly winks' too. ah, the finer things in life!!!! xo |

Posted - Sep 12 2008 : 08:49:09 AM here are some more pics, as requested: these were a custom order for a sweet curvier farmgirl...she was delighted when she tried them on as she said 'they make me look skinny'. i took that as they FEEL good on! how sweet!!!! sorry the pics are so large, not a computer whiz. the long pair is 'altered couture' ie the bottom ruffle was a skirt with a broken zipper. smiles! hugs!

Posted - Sep 12 2008 : 07:53:21 AM HI! i don't have alot for sale on Etsy yet as i have a ton of custom orders i am working on right now. if you would like to see my creations, perhaps you could go to myspace and view my pics there... http://www.myspace.com/auragaia oh, i think i'll do the split like the Victorian Farmgirls did...a good portion of the rise, front and back...in other words the crotch. this way it would be so much easier and practical. i had some Victorian slips etc and that's how they did it and i think it would be perfect! a pattern...that's something i could do!!! of course, it would have to be adjusted here and there for different sizes...i'll work on that! blessings!!! xo carol

Posted - Sep 12 2008 : 07:35:05 AM I'm not sure where the split would be, tell us more about that. I'm going to look at fabric today and start a sewing project. I want to see some of yours in more colors and also other things you have for sale. What about selling a pattern? That would be nice for farmgirls. Going to your site to see now what else you have. Nice to meet you too!

Posted - Sep 12 2008 : 07:22:28 AM HI Farmgirls! wow, i am so so happy...i turn on my computer and come to this forum and find all these replies!!!! whooohooo!!!! glad you love the bloomers! i'm thinking of making some with the split legs...wouldn't it be so much easier to use the outhouse with that split? of course, you would need to wear a skirt over them but i'm for functionality and that split just makes so much sense! what do y'all think?? love hearing from you! xo carol

Posted - Sep 12 2008 : 06:39:29 AM I'm still looking at those adorable bloomers. The colors are very country and remind me of the way we make quilts. I will sew my own, but thanks for the inspiration! I wear aprons outside and I live in the city. I'm sure I don't look skinny them. :-) I'd wear them for a slip under skirts and then take the skirt off inside for jammies or for comfortable casual wear inside. Imagine them under an apron...! cool
