The storms didn't start up in the night; I guess the forecast changed. But now a huge band of bad storms, along with tornados, is headed this way. Some counties to the W of us have tornado warnings, and it sounds like we will fairly soon.

Another reason to be thankful I'm in the house, even unfinished! Sure beats being in that little camper!

About 30 minutes after I thought it was past -- the rain ended & the sun was shining -- the wind picked up and was very, very strong all afternoon until about 5:30 or so. Blew full-size pieces of 3/4" plywood around, etc. It even blew the cat's box, with her inside, across the porch!!

The storm headed our way almost completely disipated about 50 miles west of here. I was soooo happy. I kept sending out thoughts that it would do that....and it did. Not that I think I had anything to do with it but ....who knows? We got just a sprinkling of rain and not hardly any winds. Thank you God. It was a bad storm too, tornado warnings so there were tornadoes with it.

I have been wondering about all the farm-girls who live in the paths of this storm. We have been under a tornado watch all day, and will be until 6 p.m. It did get real bad here this morning but nothing to run to the storm house. We did have a sereve thunderstorm warning then it turned into a tornado warning for the neighbouring county.
Hope you all are safe and sound

Take care, Patsy. I hope it passes you as quickly and painlessly as it went by our place.

Yep, we just got a tornado watch. I just hate storms but living in the midwest all my life you would think I would be used to it.

They moved through over the last hour or so. The sky was incredibly dark, heavy rain, strong winds, and now the sun is breaking through the patchy clouds and it sprinkles a bit every now & then. I lost power for about a second and that was about it. I tried calling my in-laws who live about 8 miles from here, and their phone is out.

Sarah, I'm in Bollinger County, near the top and about midway across. Bollinger County is very rural; there's one real town with stores, etc., and it has a few thousand people. The rest is farmland and a few tiny towns with a Post Office and gas station.

Patti...what county are you in? Thunderstorms passed thru here early this morning and the sun is peeking out now. Maybe i should check the weather.

Blessings....
Sarah
