Brrrrr. The high today is 16 with a windchill of -20! We got about another 4 to 6 inches of snow last night, so we are up to about a foot!

I am dreaming of spring flowers!

It was 82' here yesterday. Just freaky to think that the week before last we had an ice storm and snow.
No wonder everyone's getting sick.

Today it's 37'. Today I'm dressed for yesterday's weather and yesterday I was dressed for today's weather. Argh!

Dar... LOL! We always are telling our kids they haven't felt cold until the insides of their noses freeze! They were young when we moved here & have gotten used to the TX weather, but they like the cold better too. Hard to explain too how it would be pretty & sunny out, but when you walked out your nose froze right away. Made it burn! Supposed to be 68 here today... sorry for you cold weather folks! It is going to get cold again though. Wish it would stay cold long enough to get rid of some of these bugs!

Oh, I'm so glad someone has a thread going about the frigid temps! I'm not sure what this works out to in fahrenheit, but it was -30 celsius here this morning, with a windchill making it -41! Exposed skin freezes in less than 10 minutes right now, so everyone is doing their best to stay inside. Yesterday, we hunkered down and made a big pot of chili. I've also been going out every 3 hours and I let my car run, just to keep the engine a little bit warm. Brrr!

Hi, I haven't been paying attention to this thread but after 2 days of single digit temps and wind chill below zero here in Rochester, I suddenly noticed it!
You're going to think I'm crazy but my friends and I went xcountry skiing on Sunday. We were sweating within 15 minutes, it's such good exercise. But as soon as we would stop, our fingers and toes would start to go numb again. It's scary cold out there!
Destiny~ Posted - Feb 06 2007 : 06:00:49 AM
Kelly, I'm in the same boat you are. I much prefer the cold to the heat and I hate A/C.

I've been watching the weather in the Rochester area and I feel for all of you in that part of the country. My parents live near Brockport but are in Florida for the winter so I don't have to worry about them. It's going to be 70' here today. People here think I'm crazy when I try to explain to them about how cold it is up there right now. They laugh when I tell them about how it feels when your nose hairs freeze.

Stay warm ladies.

Tonight it's 18, the windchill is 8. The windchill is supposed to get to -9 tonight. Tomorrow evening it's supposed to start snowing, and we may get a few inches. I love rough weather because it keeps my husband at home :)

YEA BONNIE, NO SCHOOL. I made three dozen oatmeal cookies, eat three, feeling a little woozy now. Been staying pretty close to the fireplace. The wind just doesn't want to calm down, it really is cold.

Oh, it's sooo cooold! In the last two days I've made applesauce muffins, 7-grain bread, chicken, beef enchiladas, and a pot of spicy black beans -- and this is just for two of us! -- to keep the oven going in the kitchen. And I'm doing laundry like a fiend, just to run the dryer and get some heat in the back room. So far we're still heating just with the woodstove, in spite of -8 degrees and windy wind. We're warm inside here, and well fed!

It is cold here too. I had to let my water run a bit to keep it from freezing. Okay, winter was nice but spring would be welcome. I can't get warm and it is supposed to be freezing all week with windchills at -20 or so. Enough already.

Blessed are those who love the soil,

Hello Farmgirls it's a minus 9 with clear sunny sky here in good old Wisconsin. Time to light a fire, bake some bread and meatloaf with mashed potatoes & gravy for dinner. Hard to belive I was planting flower bulbs a month ago in sweat pants and a T-shirt. Only six more weeks till spring!!! Stay warm.

It is a big -1 here right now at 2am and only a 3mph wind. It's nice to have a break from the wind. I can't wait till it gets warmer!!!!!

Blessings....

Pretty cool! We used to practically be neighbors. You are closer to Rochester right? We weren't very far from Niagara Falls. @ a 20 minute drive. A lot of mine & my DH family live there still. We try to come up once a year, but didnt make it in 2006. Hopefully this year. My aunt & uncle own a kennel & game farm there. We loved to go out there. Also every year we would go to a place called Becker Farms & pick apples. Have ever heard of it? Here is the website if you would like to visit it.

Bonnie...right outside of Buffalo in a town called Amherst. I also lived in other towns, but that is the one we left.
