Jenny, it's called an arctic air mass! We sent it to you! You'll be getting warmer weather soon, this front is moving through and will probably move on and warm everyone up, we'll get cold again....... jo

Well, compared to all of you farmgirls, we are downright balmy!! It was about 70 today, will be again tomorrow, THEN a 25 degree drop on Tuesday. Hopefully we will be able to experience some of our normal January weather (the 40's) for a while. I want some colder days so we can hunker down inside. :) Please send some my way!!

It never got up to 0 here today...brrr. It was -13 at 6:30 a.m. and -9 at 9am...and not much warmer most of the day...now it is down there low again. How odd that we are colder than Alaska..who would have thought???

I'm so glad you're cold! This is cracking me up! We're holding steady at 25 with lots of snow coming again now. Our driveway is a tunnel. They have 283 inches of snow at our local 1/2 away ski resort. Winter will be here still when you're planting your spring gardens. Guess who'll be envious then? I'm looking for greenhouses now! jo

Brrrrrr....when I went out to get more wood early this morning, my thermometer, which is conservative because it's right by the back porch, registered -13F. Now, at 9:20am, it's warmed up to a balmy 0F. It's just SO cold - my nose was freezing closed almost every time I breathed! The snow, however, that we received over the last couple of days has stayed just beautifully dry and fluffy - just like sparkly powder. It's loverly! There is an old Danish saying that translates roughly to, "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing." It's SO true!

XOXO, Libbie

Jo, that is absolutely hilarious!! We were suppose to go to a wedding today in the Twin Cities and we are actually going to stay home because we dont want to chance it. Gonna hole up under blankets, drink hot chocolate and chai teas with homemade whipped cream and watch movies for part of the day then who knows? board games are plentiful!

That's just weird, swapping with Alaska, I mean! I also loved the temps around 5 degrees in the Cities yesterday, but am really looking forward to the slight warm-up (20s?). Not because I want it warmer - NOSIREE - but because slightly warmer temps may bring some SNOW!

Freak.

I love minnesota. I don't mind the snow or temps around 30 and a hair less, but the bitter cold I can do without. It really makes it hard to grow fun stuff without a proper green house.

I'm sure my colorado sage has probably bit the dust. :(
