Posted - Jul 15 2013 : 8:46:24 PM I know many of you are swamped, washed out, & overloaded with rain. I know that there are many who are wishing the rain would stop . . . and I understand how that might be the case.
But, for us, here in this dry, dry, DRY & drought stricken west we have been looking to the skies for weeks and weeks. We have been sweating, breathing clouds of dust, watching our fields, trees, flowers and gardens struggle possibly die for lack of adequate water. It has been so hot we could hardly breathe and it is draining us of energy, motivation and focus.
And, as you know, fires, fires and more fires.
Our mountains have finally gotten some rain! At my house, FINALLY, we had about an hour of glorious rain! And it dropped the temperature at least 30 degrees! What sweet relief!!!!
Of course, it came with all the thunder and lightning and some strikes in the wooded areas around, requiring fire department responses. Thankfully, all was controlled but this is the scary part of summer thunderstorms when it is dry.
We have had some relief and I'm grateful! Praying for more! Praying for relief for all areas that are either too dry and burning up or too wet and soggy. CJ

Posted - Jul 16 2013 : 5:58:01 PM No rain today, but the temperature was at least 20 degrees cooler than it has been for days! Such a difference! I could actually breathe, function and stay focused! We didn't have to be bombarded with the racket of all these fans going! I'm thankful! CJ

Posted - Jul 16 2013 : 4:06:39 PM SO glad to hear about rain in your neck of the woods, CJ. FINALLY!! I hope there is more behind it coming over those mountains. I agree with Winnie. Our Gulf Coast of Florida is so soggy from the rain. We have had so many water spouts and rain, lightening, and severe weather over the past week. We've lost power twice and once, the hospital even went on back-up generator. I love the sound of the rain but so many times it pours so hard it wakes me from sleep. Not complaining, just wish I could send some of what we have your way, CJ. If only it were that easy. Joey
