I actually had thought about a few Alpaca until I went to a friends house who raises them. And once I found out how much cost and care they are I said forget that. She sells me all the fiber I want cheap enough. She actually uses them more for breeding and show. The only thing I did like about them was the don't have hooves.
I'll stick with sheep...
I started spinning on a drop ...it was a bit tricky at first, but I liked it enough to make an investment in a wheel,carder and picker.
It all takes time tho.

I am sitting here thinking I better freeze some tomatoes I brought in, and my leftover blueberries. Then I have some crochet orders to fill.

I can't wait to learn to spin yarn. I am even putting a bug in dh's ear about getting an alpaca.

it looks as though the sky is lining up for the same here. I need to spin up some yarn for a customer and then the rest of the day will be mine. After I can those peppers!
