As I was coming home from the Farmgirls on the Loose, Women of the Wild West trip, I had to go through Iowa to drop Wende off. I can't believe what I saw. Farms and fields under water from the flooding caused by the Govt. On top of that there was a storm with hurricane winds of 125+ that wiped out the few fields of corn that were standing and took out hole power poles and trees. I just missed it, I was a little west of the storm. I got home to numerous trees and power outage in WI also. Pray for the farmers and families that are affected by this. Where are all the celebrities shouting their rampages over this?????

I ask not for a larger garden, but for finer seeds.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I was just in Iowa last weekend for a cousin's wedding and the corn didn't look good at all (at least in the southern and central part that I was in). My grandpa (who is a farmer, along with two of my uncles) said he had to replant twice including a lot of the other farmers in southern iowa. This was due though to the amount of rain received.

So true, the celebs are awfully quiet! I think the singer Pinks' husband spoke out for help for his hometown that was flooded but that's the only one I think I have heard of speak of the loss so many have suffered due to goverment flooding.
