I couldn't tell you how many people I saw today wearing jackets-

Thinking we had our summer and now moving into fall-SIGH!

Hello Nicole.. and fellow sisters.. Troy is a central Texas community. DH says it is so small that all the resident's pictures are on a billboard by the highway. We are offically 35 miles south of Waco and 70 miles north of Austin right on IH 35. It divides the city in 2. When they widen the highway, we will lose 2 churches, 2 filling stations and our bank, plus some old houses.

Texas is in exceptional drought per NOAA. Anticipated to last a few years also. We let the backyard grow ground cover rather than waste water on a lawn. Figured since God planted them first, they were good enuf for us and our neighbors. THe small 4 X 8 garden is on a soaker hose. Grey water is also my friend.

Have a happy day, All.

Hey Melody, It's been pretty much the same here. We had a heat wave of 100+ for a few days, then POOF! Now it's been rainy almost a week and no sun when it's not rainy. In the high fifties, low-sixties. Doesn't much seem like summer her.

Madelena, welcome, I see you are rather new. My brother in Texas says they are literally praying for rain, and that he read in the paper that the Sahara desert got more rain this year than there! I am from TX originally, whereabouts is Troy?

Hello from central Texas.. It's 8 pm and the temperature is 101 degrees. Honest! This is like August weather in June. Can't wait to see what August brings. No.. I think I can wait. Hope you all are keeping cool!

I think it must be more nationwide that I realized. I thought we were the main ones who go through the menopauseal mother nature craze.

Do what you love, love what you do.

We did get down to 46 last night and were at 80 yesterday. I appreciate the cooler nights, but like some warmth during the day. Much better than the persistent heat of New England or the southeast.

I could use a little of that cool! It has been in the upper 90's here for over a week with no break expected for the next 7 days. Bad thing is it stays so hot at night. It is almost 10pm and still 83 degrees out. It is too early in the year for this heat.
By the way I visited the U.P. of Michigan and thought it was fabulous. Summer there was awesome. I'll bet winter is COLD! I imagine you get cold with sunshine. It gets grey here in January and pretty much stays that way till spring.
