This is crazy! Normally we are a semi desert and the "rims" the cliffs in the video are these dry standstone giants surrounding the town. We have had a bunch of bolders come off the rims lately and they have shut down one of the major roads because of rock slides and boulders. This is crazy!

Alee,

Thanks for the link. I was reading in the paper yesterday about the Crow Reservation having flooding, too. Back in the early 1980s I lived and worked at Custer Battlefield (Little Bighorn Battlefield nowadays!) -- and Billings was the place to go to shop, etc. (I've been there lots of times since then, too.) Was the picture you posted from above near Roundup?

The Spokane River is flooding along the Centennial Trail in places and there is the (almostd) usual flooding in northern Idaho. We are three inches above average for precip this year!!! It seems like every place in the country is having a cold spring and lots of rain. (Well, maybe not in Texas where the wildfires are!)

I also agree at the awesomeness of Mother Nature. I was just saying to someone the other day that if people weren't in the equation -- having flooding and wildfires negatively affect their lives -- nature would just adapt to whatever she does.

Take care everyone! Karin

I agree! It is horrible for the families affected but also it is amazing to see what mother nature can do!

The Mississippi is starting to rise again here and recently there was a mudslide on the bluffs that closed part of the river road. Some of the new houses they built on the bluff may also be in danger. I wanted to go camping this weekend but it's too wet to do any hiking. The weather IS crazy and I think Mother Nature is trying to tell us something.

Yup, Montana may be in store for a disaster declaration too. I think by the end of this spring many states will have them and we aren't even into hurricanes yet...

Hold on to your hats ladies!

It is just scary what climate change is doing these days! I hope that you are safe and dry! We had snow in the forecast last night, but got only rain. Where I live out on a bend of Paradise Creek, the creek is so swollen right now, and is going to flood our lower fields if this rain keeps up. Crazy indeed!

*Hugs*

Bev- SNOW? Wow! This has been a crazy year!!

Sherry- The Yellowstone River that runs through the town I live in hit flood stage yesterday. It is at 14 feet and they had to close Riverfront park. They had to pull 50 guys from the refinery across the street to work all day on a sandbag line just to save the city water plant and they think the boat dock at the park is wiped out. This has been a crazy year and we have more rain in the forecast!

Hang in there... It'll be August soon!

We've had so much rain, it's just crazy.

All the lakes and rivers are close to flood stage, but nothing like what you have in Billings.

Keep safe and dry!

Bev
