Posted - Feb 01 2011 : 1:12:42 PM We have had temps from 55 to almost 80 last week. It started raining here last night. Then snow and sleet. I heard thunder about 2:30. The temp now is 16 and wind chills -2. The wind is blowing between 35 to 40 miles an hour. I had to feed my birds on the back porch close to the house. They can't find their seed in the feeders or on the ground. All schools in this part of Texas are closed. Many of you will yawn reading this. But we Texicans are not use to this kind of misery. We are not equiped clothes wise, road wise or mentally. Many of us live in country areas with ditches, creeks and long stretches of gravel roads. It is very hard to get onto highways. Then it turns hectic. Someone blogged the other day that watching Texans driving on ice was about as dangerous as the Ice Capades was exciting. This area is having the Super Bowl. The fans of the Packers and Steelers are laughing at us. They say this is T shirt weather. Oh, for Texas T shirt weather and swinging on my back porch drinking iced tea. |

Posted - Feb 02 2011 : 5:37:36 PM Hey, Patricia, I am in Decatur too. I have been on here a long time now and had no local farmgirls. I went almost to Houston for a get together with other ladies. We had a great time though.

Posted - Feb 02 2011 : 11:18:58 AM I am a transplant from Ohio. We moved here in 2009. I thought I left this mess back in Ohio. LOL
I won't drive anywhere today. I have never seen people speed up when it is raining. I would be ok since I have driven in a blizzard. But I am scared of the drivers here.
Stay warm. I am trying to get my emails in. We are having rolling black outs. Yuck.
