Posted - Jul 27 2010 : 12:30:15 AM could knock out my electricity for 4 days. We had a small thunder and lightning storm come through late Sunday afternoon knocking my power. We've been calling the electric company and they are projecting our turn on time as sometime late Wednesday morning. YIKES!! Thankfully, we are able to stay up at Mom's (who has power and water) The kids are anxious to get back home as am I. We just got moved it!! From what I learned from talking to the neighbor lady, this happens pretty often. Well, here comes adventure living..hehehe hugs Jess

Posted - Jul 29 2010 : 09:11:34 AM We spend about 3-4 weeks total out of power each year. Every decent sized storm knocks us out for a day or two. We have a generator and it gets used a lot!

Posted - Jul 27 2010 : 03:17:15 AM Jess, there's a video on you tube that shows a woman filming out her window in the Bronx on Sunday...apparently a tornado touched down there! And, this was a big storm, power is out in parts of NY, NJ and Conn.! We had one of those on Labor Day about 12 years ago. It knocked out power across much of central NY for days. Our neighbors across the street from us had their roof torn off by a small twister, we didn't know it until the next day because it was night when it went through, but it was scary. Look at it this way, you get to have 2 homecomings!!!! :)
