The big snow hit us today! About 10" of the wet stuff. I'm so ready for spring. Been looking for signs, and yes! They're there! The bird song has changed. I think the boys are starting to announce territories. Heard Rufous Sided Towhee's "Drink your tea" in the woods. Turkey vultures making a come back in the skies. Saw just the tips of the daffodils pushing up through the ground. Days are longer!

Anyone want to share their signs of spring?

Oh my goodness ya'll. I bet it's 80 degrees here today. My poor goats are panting like a dog. I've been working out in the garden and I am sunburned.

CeeJay, I hope it stops snowing there soon. What's corn snow?

A mix of rain, sleet, "corn" snow, wind and sunshine . . . a VERY SURE sign of spring here in Colorado!!!!

Yup, we got it . . .and lots of fat robins hopping around in the yard looking for goodies!!!

Nothing like springtime in the Colorado Rockies!

Gorgeous pictures of the daffodils! I loooove daffodils! :)
We still have a good amount of snow on the ground- hardly any grass showing, we actually had a fairly mild winter, although whenever we got snow it was measured in feet not inches!!!
Anyways, went out side this morning, took a look, and saw a few tiny little crocuses with their heads up and their white hats showing!!!! Not open yet, but they are there! Joy!!! :)
I will say I'm a little jealous of you all who are showing more spring than me.....

The trees are Ornamental Plum (Prunus_Flowering Plum). they are everywhere out here.

The Daffodils are growing at the bulb farms out here too. The skagit Valley has the largest Bulb (Daffs, Tulips and Iris) farms in the world. It is so beautiful when the colorful rows of Tulips bloom--in about two weeks. I will post more pics then. kay? MB

We still have some snow in our yard in the shade. It's still on the mountains. And still a little chilly. But the sun is out and the sky is blue.

I love Redbud trees. They are my favorite tree. I just planted some seeds along the driveway a few weeks ago. I hope they all come up. And that field of daffodils is beautiful! Is that near you?

Mary Beth, Are those red bud trees? That's what we call them here in the south. The snow is finally melting! We have 45 degrees and brilliant sunshine! My daffodils have pushed up a bit further through the soil. Had big flock of robins maybe 50 or so in the yard picking up leaves looking for insects! Nice to hear their song! Getting ready for the hummingbirds! They usually appear here in late March.

Mary Beth, that picture is absolutely beautiful! What is it? Here in Milwaukee, we have snow on the ground, but it is melting! The days are longer, the sun is rising earlier everyday, and the birds are coming back. We have also been going through a "warm" spell the past few days. It really is refreshing to know that spring is indeed on it's way.

wow Mary Beth that is beautiful, I am happy to finally have some bare ground showing on my 3 acres it has been since the first of Dec. that is more like I remember when I was growing up. But it is suppose to be close to 50 by this week end, can't wait even though there isn't much you can do outside yet except enjoy a walk. (which I will)

I feel so bad and I don't want to be mean---but soon the snow will be gone and things will be blooming.

We don't have anything popping up yet, but the first Canadian Goose flew over this morning looking for our open water...so that's a good sign!!

The days are sure enuf getting a bit longer each day. I am glad for that. Bluebirds all over making nests. Daffodils popping up. Maple trees budding. And I do believe the pine trees too. Because my eyes have been itcy latley.

And we also had snow. About 4". Yuck! Now we have the muddy mess to go through.
