Me and Truckin' Man went to town this morning and it was fine. Ran some errands. Then the school called. They were letting out at noon. So had to get the grand. It was spitting snow-sleet then. Had to go to get the taxes filled out and it started coming down fast and hard. Within just minutes the roads were covered. And traffic barely moving. On the way home a truck was halfway across the road in the ditch on a curve. Poor guy. He had to be going kind of fast to end up there. The farther we got into the country, the worse the road was. We were going about 15. Lots of cars in front of us. Paople sliding trying to go up hills and driveways. We made it home though.

Had to go give hay to all the critters and get the cows in. That was fun. And I am just really lucky to not break my legs when I fall, too. Not fun at all.

Hope everyone above us is inside and warm right now. They are calling for about 10" in Tn and Ken in the higher elevations. So ya'll get ready!

Oh, I am so sorry, Laura. Me too. I want spring right now this minute. I want green leafy trees and flowers all over and happy animals. I want veggies in the garden and fruits on the trees. Right now!

My hubby drives a truck. He called last night going through Kentucky. It was rainig=ng when he first called. Then after awhile he said it looks a little different. It had started snowing and fast and heavy. He was headed to a truck stop to take a break and eat. So I hope he got outta there! He's headed to Ill. today.

I hope it all melts there soon. It has mostly gone here. But now it's ICY and freezing. Although the water buckets weren't frozen this morning. Strange. The wind is blowing now, too. Hopefully it will dry up some of this slushy mess.

Have a good day and stay warm!

It is coming down fast and heavy again. Most of the snow from Friday was melted and now we are covered back up. Within an hour, too. Here we go again, ya'll!

Well, we got about 3" yesterday. It sounds like it's raining with all the melting on the roof going on.

Wow, snow in Texas. That's neat. I'd take the 50 degree temps though. That's the best thing about snow for me is driving around looking at all the creative snow people. I love that.

I don't know what this weekend will bring here. I just ran out of propane in the gas fireplace last night. I am kind of glad because lately the smell is horrible when it comes on. Half the burner doesn't come on for about 4 minutes then finally does. By then it's stinking up the house. Yesterday I woke up with a headache and could not get rid of it. Went to bed with it. It's almost gone now since the gas is off. Hubby comes home this weekend. Maybe I can talk him into taking out the gas logs and making it back into a wood burning fireplace again. We have plenty of old wood out back to burn.

Enjoy the snow while it lasts, Kelly.

We got 12 inches of snow yesterday. I am loving it! I am a northern girl living here in Texas, so I enjoy it. It is a new record for this area for the most snow ever. It is truly beautiful! But as quickly as day turns to night, Texas weather is changing & tomorrow will be 50 & all the snow will melt. I'm enjoying it while I can. I don't think I have ever seen so many snowman filled lawns!

We are supposed to have some snow Friday and then again on Sunday and Monday. It's a holiday and kids are out of school anyway Monday. I will probably have all 3 grands. Yeah!

But today is beautiful. It's dry and might reach the low 40's. Yippee! I have been cleaning this morning. Even washed windows.

Your hubby sounds like mine. He's always covering up when he's in his recliner. They're so funny.

Well Kristin we're supposed to get another storm this Sunday or Monday. We have at least 15-20" of snow so far at my house. It's getting pretty windy and blowing snow and really cold. Even the cats wanted to come in and they usually prefer to stay outside but not tonight. I think that we'll have enough wood to get us through this winter. The DH is always cold and it's about 70 degrees in the house right now from the woodburner and I'm wearing a T-shirt inside. I'm staying in tomorrow and baking.

I hope you had a good day today, Betty Jo. It snowed this morning here. It was sticking, too. But nothing now. It's just FREEZING! And it could snow this weekend. Supposed to be really cold all through next week. I'm so cold.

Oh goodness you guys. Sounds like ya'll are in for it. I hope you have plenty of wood, Tina. That's a lotta snow, Kay. We are supposed to get a little tonight but mostly on the mountains all around us. So probably no school tomorrow. Then more this weekend. They say it's going to be crudy all the way through next week. I'm just worried about running out of hay. I just got 5 more bales and only 3 left at my friends barn. I should have planned better.

Ya'll stay warm. I hear the wind howling here. Too cold.

We're supposed to get another 4-9" on top of the 12" last week. It's snowing now but the woodburner sure feels good. It's 28" right now and the bathroom pipes have thawed - Yay!

We've had 19.9" of snow since Christmas Eve with more to come. They're saying this is the 2nd snowiest winter since records have been kept here in OK. We're being told to brace for 2 more within the next week.

Sarah, did you watch local news yesterday? It was a mess here in just minutes. We went to Ft. O yesterday and the schools were letting out early. It took me about 45 minutes to get from just 2 1/2 miles. Then going up 24 people were sliding so it was a parking lot. I keep forgetting you are not in Ringgold. Sorry. Anyway, it's a mess here. We had to drive 15-20 mph all the way home and people were sliding all over. Couldn't get up little hills or driveways. I am stayin' home!

Kay, I hope you are feeling better today. Poor thing. I know about falling. I fell yesterday a few times but I am ok. I hate falling. I get so mad and say horrible things that shouldn't ever be said. But it just makes me MAD to fall! I feel so stupid.

Be careful out there, Marian. I had to buy cheapo cat food last week and all 6 cats are not liking it at all. My inside cat, Soshe, is on a hunger strike. Gotta get the good stuff when I go back out again.

Gena, stop kinking that rooster!! Don't you remember you just had surgery on it?? Take a big stick with you when you go out there next time and whack him. He'll learn. My roo always acts like he's going to get me. He fluffs all up and walks towards me. I wonder what he's thinking.

Tx. Beth, I am so glad your DD got home safely. I always worry about mine, too. Heather is driving our big ole truck and she got off early so she could make it home. She did. And thank goodness there were people in front of her going slow. She would have been in the ditch.

N.C. Beth, and Jeanna, that's the way it was here, too. Really fast and heavy. Hope we don't get any more.

Ya'll be careful and stay toasty!

Kris

I have to laugh, though it is slushy out there and could be dangerous, its like a day in springtime in Minnesota. But here in GA its a big deal. My son wanted a hot chocolate from starbucks this afternoon and we went down there and they had closed for "inclement weather!"

More snow More snow More snow!

Snow started here about 3PM. One minute nothing, the next it was coming down like mad! Heavy wet stuff. We've got about 6-8" maybe. It's stopped for the moment, and gosh, it's so beautiful! Virtually no wind, so everything is covered. I'm originally from Buffalo NY, and I know I have cross country skis somewhere in the basement. I'm soooo tempted!LOL! Laid in a good supply of birdseed and critter food. Will be up early to fill the feeders! Weather folks say more snow tonight and all day tomorrow. If the power stays on I'm baking bread!

Do something you love!

My youngest daughter left here this morning to drive back to school north of Dallas. When she left home it was sprinkling, in downtown Houston it was pouring rain with thunder and lightening, about half way home she ran into sleeting rain and by the time she got to her exit in Denton it was snowing. It scares me to death when she has to drive in weather like that. She flipped her car end over end twice last spring and it scares me when she drives in good weather. It was sure great when I got that call that she was in her apartment.

It started snowing here about 5pm. We are suppose to get the worst of it after midnight. And to think it was close to 60 degrees yesterday!!
I guess I won't be out in it. I kicked the rooster with my leg I just had the knee replacement on, and did something to it.
I don't have health ins right now, so I wrapped it up and am hoping for the best. I guess it serves me right, but that dad burn rooster only goes after me! My DH says he never bothers him.
Go figure.

We got ice yesterday. I work for the state Department of Public Safety issuing permits for big rigs and we were shut down bright and early yesterday and all day today. I went out to check the mail yesterday and slipped off the porch. Luckily I landed in the flower bed on one leg - just a badly broken nail. The mailman and saw it all and kept on going. Stayed home today. I hurt my back last week and had been gimping around. After the slip, I was feeling better but when I got up this morning I could barely move. So now, it's back to ice pack/heating pad and anti inflammatory. DH had to work so I'm waiting on him to come in before I got take a nice hot bath.

I think they said we got about 1" of ice and 6+ inchees of snow. Some people have been without power since yesterday and it is colder than all get out.

Here in the western mountains of NC it is snowing and is supposed to get worse overnight. We already have about 3-4 inches and they are calling for up to 10 inches here and over a foot in the higher elevations.
