I know we're all experiencing winter right now...even in places that aren't supposed to (FL ), but it was -20 degrees at my house this morning! I am SOOOO glad the wind isn't blowing and addind a windchill to things.

It's funny you say that about layering the clothes. Yesterday, my youngest was quite distraught over the cold and yelled in frustration, "I don't have the clothes for this!"

Around here in Houston there's a saying, "If you don't like the weather, wait around 10 minutes" That's due to how it can be sunny and then a sudden rain shower appears or it's hot and then a cool front comes through or like today, we start out cold and end up warmer.
My waiting 10 minutes is almost over! This morning it's 21 degrees and by this afternoon it'll be close to 50 and tomorrow it will be in the mid 60! Then close to 70 the rest of the week, although we start mornings in the 30's.
It's crazy.

We ARE going to have a very cold weekend. Lot's of wind and temps can go down to -15 C (wind-chill factor)Just checked the converter and it "only" is 5 F. MMMMM I know it might not sound too cold to many but for my country...this hasn't happened in many years. We didn't have a White Christmas since 1988 and this year it was a white one. Pretty but C O L D lol.

LOL about the heated toilet seat, now THAT is a great idea. That CAN be so cold hehe ;)

I have lived south of I-10 for the first 30 years of my life and the past 10 I've lived only 15 miles north of I-10. I am not made for this cold weather. I admit it....I'm a whimp. I don't know how the pioneers did it. I don't know how you gals up north do it! But, I can still do a whole days outdoor labor in 100 degrees in the summer!

Oh my, I shall stop complaining about our single digits here in Arkansas. It is very cold, but not below zero yet. Thank God we have this cozy wood stove and lots of wood. We are very warm here in the living room. Everyone, please stay safe and warm and tend to your critters. Our two black labs are on their blankets in front of the stove here by us after a day of romping outside with their "daddy". Momma stayed in and stayed busy with warm house stuff.

We are at 25 right now and its 10:30 in the morning. The wind is making it really bad. Our electricity keeps going off and on. The computer has restarted four times so far this morning.

Hi Laura,
I'm in Kalispell...a few hours north of Corvallis. I LOVE the Bitterroot Valley!
We've warmed up considerably today....20 degrees warmer!

It is 22 here this morning. That is cold for us. Horses had ice in their buckets. This has been the most unusual winter.

Kelly what part of Montana are you from? I grew up and lived in Hamilton/Corvallis for 30yrs. I miss it terribly. It seems like it is way colder this year. My parents still live in the valley and said it has been a wierd year. Hope to get back that way in June.

Cold here in Houston too. We aren't use to cold here. We have 27 right now with a wind chill of 12. BRRRRR. I don't remember being this cold when we lived in Alaska. LOL. Guess it is just what you are use to. My dogs won't even go outside. Pulled out the arctic gear from year ago to go muck out the stalls.

Hi Kelly:
I am in SW Louisiana, the temp in the morning is supposed to be 28 degrees. We are expecting 18 and 17 for the two next nights. LOL. We are cold. I am cold. Louisiana gets this kind of temperatures only every 10 years. I don't know how y'all make it through all that snow and the cold temperatures. Keep warm.

This morning on the news they stated that in Billings Montana last night the temp dropped to -30 degrees. That was not counting in the wind chill. Parts just outside of Billings reported about -34 degrees. Now that is cold. Bundle up and stay warm and safe, I know I will be. Tonight will be a little warmer at -12 or -13 degrees tonight for the low. They keep reminding us that there is a warm change a coming. Yeah 30 degrees will feel like a heat wave.

It's been downright nasty here too! We are getting quite a snow right now & it isn't going to end until tomorrow, leaving about 10-13"s of snow when it is done. We are down in the teens and it looks like we'll be that way for awhile. Those windchills take the fun out of it.

I guess we all need to head for the Caribbean to warm up!
