Posted - Sep 12 2009 : 9:04:15 PM Just a bit ago tonight, a falling star caught my eye and I pointed it out to my family. When it didn't burn right out, but kept falling, we realized it was a meteor coming down to the north east of us. I'm guessing it lasted long enough to touch down, maybe over in Montana, maybe Canada. Any farmgirls in the west see it tonight, between 8:30-9? (didn't have my watch).

Posted - Sep 13 2009 : 1:41:52 PM Cool! Wonder how far east the sightings go? I know that they seem so close, but really aren't at all. Wonder if there's a way to find out where it hit? Found one as a kid in the desert once, and worked hard to get it home. Sat in the garage for years looking like a piece of slag out of place (no metalworks or buidings anywhere). Didn't have a clue what it was, and eventually tossed it back into the desert. (smacking forehead) Oh well. The things you learn.
