Yesterday, Doug and I were talking about how fall is coming so fast and he mentioned that some of the leaves on the trees around his office building have already started changing! Say What?! When did THAT Happen? Then when I drove up our driveway home I looked at our tree over the driveway and realized- our tree has started changing too! Maybe only 20 leaves spread out over the entire tree- but the CHANGE is starting to happen!

Before we know it, that crisp fall scent will be in the air. Time for the smell of spiced apples, pumpkins, and fresh cold air! It's hard to believe because we are still getting close to 100 degree days here, but the dog and horse agree- Winter is coming and they are getting their coats ready!

What "Fall is on the way" signs are in your area?

Oh my the weather here is still quite warm. We had a late start to our hot summer weather. Maybe it is flowing on still but I am definitely looking forward to some COOL fall days.

God is good....all the time.

It is still SO nice here, sunny and still good enough temps for me to wear short sleeves :)
But the acorns are falling already, been picking them to make a nice fall display later :) LOVE summer, but fall is my second fave season.

It will be rainy come Saturday and Sunday, but next week higher temps again, yippee

Winter has come (briefly) to some places in Wa. My husband and his friend were backpacking in the Pasaytan Wilderness area which is in the North Central part of the state. I suppose you could call it the east side of the Cascade Mountains. Around 6 P.M. the day before they were going to hike(Aug 13) out it started to sleet/rain. They had to retreat to their tents without being able to cook supper. Jim woke at 6:30 A.M. and looked out and there was 8 -10 in. of snow on the ground (totally unexpected) Jim yelled to his friend that they have to get the heck out of here so they hurriedly threw things in their packs. It was a blizzard. Jim said he hadn't seen such snow since we left Minnesota. The first concern was trying to find the trail--which they did. Then they had to hike 5 miles to the trailhead where the truck was parked. The second concern was if the truck was snowed in. Luckily it turned to rain. By then everything in their packs and of course them were completely wet. They were at about 7200 feet. It's been a strange year weatherwise. JoAnn
