Posted - Jul 28 2009 : 12:06:38 PM I read of some of the weather many of you are having . . . and I'm more and more grateful for the weather we have here in SW Colorado. I live at an elevation of 7000 and, usually do not have any EXTREMES!!!
We are having slightly cooler days now, but were having 95+ weather. For us, that is HOT . . . and we are miserable. But we don't have humidity . . . and are GRATEFUL!!!!
So, if you want a break from the extreme, come visit our "neck of the woods" . . . you'll probably get a reprieve!!! CJ

Posted - Dec 08 2009 : 3:11:31 PM Hey Karen, I didn't just look out the window . . . I went out and shoveled part of the path to the drive, dug out our 2 vehicles and went on a 4 mile walk with my dog. We walked on the road which has been plowed but it is wet and messy with some drifting. Bramble (dog) had icicles hanging off her underside. Now I'm back in the house and warm and dry and EXERCISED!!!! Wanna come play in the snow with me?? CJ

Posted - Dec 08 2009 : 06:52:04 AM We are having a blizzard here in SW Colorado. It snowed all day yesterday which was okay, piled up a lot of snow. Continued to snow into the night and then about 3 AM the wind started blowing . . . still snowing and blowing at 8 AM. The screens on our kitchen windows (face east) were so covered with blown snow we couldn't see out!! Not as cold as it has been or in other places but getting buried!!!! Good thing we hadn't planned to go anyplace today!!!

Posted - Oct 28 2009 : 09:39:18 AM SNOW SNOW AND MORE SNOW! We are having our first good sized storm here on the front range in Colorado. The school district I work for called all schools today so I get a free day in the middle of the week! Kinda nice to kick back and enjoy the warm fire and yummy smells of stew cooking. I'm hoping at one point to get into the sewing room and do a little catch up.

Posted - Aug 02 2009 : 3:41:36 PM i know how you gals feel... i'm not far from colorado, about 1 1/2 hours from central Denver and my in-laws live in southern Denver. so i have about the same weather as you. and it's been SO wonderful! i'm hoping it stays nice like this for the rest of summer... i'm scared of jinxing it and ending up having an extra hot august and september.

Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 3:43:39 PM The last couple of days in my part of Colorado (SW Corner) have been REALLY NICE . . . only in the 80's. We've had a nice cool down from those days we call "miserable hot". South Fork is east of us, about a 3 1/2 hour drive on the other side of Wolf Creek Pass. Pagosa Springs is on this side of the pass, kinda at the bottom. Natural hot springs there!

Posted - Jul 30 2009 : 08:03:00 AM The whole South Fork, Pagosa Springs, Gunnison area is really nice! We get down there from time to time. Hopefully you will get a chance to take a break from your busy schedule some day and maybe come on up to COLO. for a vacation.

Posted - Jul 28 2009 : 8:17:11 PM Heather I wish I were there. We used to go to Colorado a couple of times a year, but now we are too busy to go very far. We would go to Southfork , just east of Wolf Creek Pass.(I think) It was so nice in the mountains after coming from Texas heat. |

Posted - Jul 28 2009 : 4:50:06 PM The front range in Colorado(5400ft) did a little better today. Humidity but a cooler 78 degrees. Rain in the afternoon with some ligtning and thunderboomers! No flooding here but Denver has been getting its share.
