Today is a beautiful day here. Blue skies all over. Nice breeze. I just hung clothes out. We have 2 new goat babies born this morning. I am now going out to transplant some hosta I dug up the other day and do some more planting while the sun's out. The weather man is calling for more rain Sat. I hope it goes off to somewhere that needs it more. But they said we are still 3" below normal. I just cannot believe that,as much rain as we have had lately.

I haop everyone has a great April 17th, too!

>>Oh we had wind yesterday too!! But not till later on in the afternoon, which seemed very odd.

Then we had a couple thunder-claps, overnight, and this morning it was hot, steamy and icky.

Move ahead an hour & a half, and the wind picked up again, the clouds came around, and we had a half-hearted storm for about 10 minutes.

Then the wind blew all the clouds away, and with that, the temperature dropped like a rock!! Ack!! -- it feels about 15 degrees cooler!!

I'm gonna check the 5:30 p.m. news to see how far the thermometer fell today.

Very odd weather for this early spring!!

An' don't get me goin' on Miss Sara goin' all hay-wire with the thunderstorms...blasted dog!!

It was SO windy here yesterday. I had opened all the windows in the morning and had to shut them all because it got too cold. It was strange Blue skies, too.

Today is another beautiful day. And very nice and quiet. All the critters must be happy. The new goat jumped over the fence and is in with the rest of the goats and is happy now. She must have been lonely. She could see them and they saw her. There has been no altercations between anyone yet. When Abby gets back out there, then things will change. She's the Queen mother.

So I need to get outside and do some work. See ya'll.

** ** Here along the shore, it's sunny, with a light sweet breeze coming up from the southwest. We have tomato seedlings (!) and some peppers have finally made their appearance!!

Tom said we can get some plants from the local feed & seed -- we went on Saturday 'cause he said "You just have to see this place ma!" -- and the weather was Wonderful to boot!!

So now that it's back to a warm and fine day (we had tornados and bad storms yesterday...ugh..) I'm gettin the urge to plant stuff Now -- but gotta wait & get my compost dug first!!

Please don't mention heat! Not looking forward to it. Although right now heat sounds pretty good. I have all the windows open and there is a cold breeze coming in. The sky is partly cloudy but nice today. Great for all the little seeds in the ground!

I went to your blog and saw your pictures, Shirley Jean. Very nice. And what a great vacation spot.

It is gorgeous here in north Florida, too. The screen door has been letting in the fresh air all day for several days now. Enjoy it while we can, before the heat comes.

Kris,
Wow, six cats! We might get a few barn cats that I'll try to not get so attached to (yea, right). I got Tonto when he was a teeny little 6 weeks old. My two dogs raised him and he slept cuddled up with the one. He always thought he was a dog. Any pics of your cats?

Oh how sweet, Rosemary. I have 6 cats. 18 years is a long life for a cat. Have you had him his whole life?

It has rained here all night. That's ok now that I have a lot of garden planted.

Amen, Tina! I don't really care if they are a "good" snake. To me a good snake is a dead snake. I'll take care of the little mice or at least the chickens will.

Wow, what a mountain, Rosemary. My brother and sis live in Colorado Springs at the foot of Pike's Peak. It sure is impressive. Is that what this is?

Another great day here and downright HOT, too. I was in the garden all day planting and I am sunburned. Supposed to be getting rain tonight or in the morning but that's fine with me as long as the taters and onions are finally in the ground! It can rain all it wants now. I'll plant more later.

Especially For You Posted - Apr 17 2009 : 1:19:30 PM
You are right Kris this a realy pretty day here. I went to the feed and seed store and bought some plants for the garden we are finely getting to till it tomorrow. We have had some pretty rough winds here recently. Some shingles blew off the roof of the well house and the house. Tonight we are going to the park with 2 of the 7 grandchildren to have a picnic supper and play on the plaground. I am so glad to see the sun and blue skies.
As for snakes I don't care how pretty the black snake is he would have to live somewhere else!!!!

Blessings,
Tina

I wish it was nice here in Seattle! This morning was really grey and kinda rainy, yuck! Right now I can kind of see a blue sky, but there are still many clouds. I'm at work so I can't really tell...

Oh my, I hope I don't see snakes. I know that was what my DD and I saw at my mother's a few weeks ago. It was short and fat. They need to just stay away from me and this place. And I just took the goats out back to munch on bushes. It looks snakey back there.

Ack!! -- Snake babies!! -- Well..actually we have a pretty big black snake that meanders around our property, so I'm expecting to see it pretty soon. Noah was weeding out front one day last fall, and said with all the leaves on the ground, he was glad he didn't accidently hurt the black snake with the rake!!

Our sky is an almost unbelievable shade of blue...it seems like it isn't possible to see that color in the sky!!

Hoping for a Warmer Weekend for Everybody!!

Isn't it lovely? Pefect, actually. Only the warmer weather is bringing out the snake babies!! We had a baby copperhead in the front yard today. It is now... Bwahahahahaha! Now, to find its mother.
Congrats on the new goat babies. Ah, one day maybe I will be able to have some.

>> We finally are threw with some strong winds that've been whipping around here for the last 3 days!! <<

I got back a little while ago from taking The Dog for her walk...Sara just loves to go walking around our neighborhood, but when the wind blows, she doesn't like it so much. But today is wonderful, with bright sunshine, and just a little nip in the air..it was 39 this morning when I checked the local weather conditions...Ack!! ...but it's warming up nicely!! Yippiee!!

This weekend may be a little bit warmer than today -- Somewhere in the mid 60's -- I'm So Ready for Spring to finally Be Here!! Our dogwood tree is in full bloom, so it Should Be Spring!!
